Agree. I miss the days when Apple was exciting. But the camera is very impressive, and hopefully it forced Google to raise the bar for the Nexus 5. Then I would be very happy.

When you get a string of texts from people, it does become a pain. If you unlock/check your iphone infrequently, I don't think it's too much of a hassle.

I'm sorry - but being able to swipe my finger to make App store and iTunes purchases is WONDERFUL.

No more extra passwords being typed millions of times, and also no more unauthorized kid purchases (because the password is off).....

Whether we knew it was coming or not, its a great thing.

So, the 5C has essentially the same specs as the 5, except for the plastic back, and it will be the same price as the 5 was last year (on contract)?

Seems like it is a cheaper phone with last year's specs, but price was not lowered. Am I missing something?

It's $100 less. Remember, the 16GB iPhone 5 was $199 last year. The 5C is $99 on contract. It's exactly where the 5 would have been had they not released the 5C.

FYI no lens on any smartphone with a camera of this size can resolve more than 8 megapixels. There is literally zero difference between a 12 trillion billion billion megapixel camera and an 8 megapixel camera in terms of detail captured. Except that the higher megapixel camera will be worse because it has smaller pixels, which due to the separation boundaries between pixels absorbs light and reduces image quality.

We simply do not have the technology to make a lens that can capture more detail without being larger. Unlike other companies Apple doesn't make products with higher specs that are worse for the sake of advertising BS.
