First response

YES 11.6" MBA!!!!

Final feeling

disappointment.

Really, a 1.4ghz processor?

I guess I'll stick with my iPad...

I bought an HP Envy 14 with 1600x900 screen, aluminum body, backlit keyboard, core i5, 160gb ssd, 1gb ATI 5650, switchable graphics for $1100 instead

Good for you! Another post of "My Hardware is better than yours"...

Don't tell me...it runs Windows 7, 64Bit, and it's WAY Faster and BETTER than ANY Apple system running OSX!!!! Right???

Why does everyone expect this thing to have blazing fast performance?

If you need performance, you shouldn't be using an 11 inch in the first place. Get a desktop, or MacBook Pro.

- There is no saying you can't go and download and install stuff the old fashioned way
I do worry that eventually a number of programs will become App Store exclusive. I suppose this depends upon how restrictive Apple is--if Mac OS App Store programs have to run in a crippled sandbox and therefore cannot access the entire file system, cannot install drivers or frameworks, cannot run in su mode, cannot use programming or scripting methods other than Apple's approved Objective C APIs, etc... then the App Store probably won't come to dominate the desktop.

And the netbook market...

Just lost half it's potential share to the 11.6" MBA. I can hear the stocks falling, while AAPL heads to the stratosphere.
