Everyone has to politicize everything, these days. I'm tired of it.
Apple seems to be 'post-astroturfing' this event.
Yeah me too. Not pointing at Cook specifically but nowadays it’s very difficult to find a distraction from politics. Heck, even sports...
Don't think this is being live streamed, only available to watch after it concludes.
NONE of this is related to education; it's related to MAKING MONEY OFF THE INCULCATION SYSTEM.
Shame Cook had to bring politics into the event. The marches over the weekend were not non-political or non-partisan
Would be odd to have an education "seminar" and not mention it...When were Apple never a political machine ?

Again, my guess is that this event will be focused more on PRIMARY schools, as districts usually make school wide or district wide adoptions of technology and systems. Secondary and post secondary education involves much more individual choice.

My gut is telling me that Apple wants to show the world how well their technologies help education. But what they're really saying is that our technologies help education and the other guys (Google? MS?) need to lose. That's really not in the best interest of students and all life-long education.
What the world needs is some sort of open source tablet platform that works across all vendors. That would help education. Im too wary of Apple's silo.
