I have to be in iTunes to control iTunes? Did they even think that sentence through? I can control whatever is playing right now using my function bar, no app switching needed!
Suspect you can completely customize it. Probably can even resize the functions keys you have set so will be easier to tap a function you use a lot and 'hide' the ones you don't.
Also think will be cool as it acts kind of like a mini monitor - hopefully can support notifcation center.

Reaching up to touch a screen isn't natural for many, and, the fact that they have both touch, and tactile keys to type on, is a nice feature for many. I am sure once they get haptic feedback working the way they like, the entire bottom case will become a touchscreen, but this method is still brilliant (IMO).
It’s a rumor site. If you come here at all you’re part of the problem not the solution. If someone wants to buy something there’s a market for it.
Instead of looking at the beautiful retina screen, we now have to squint at the tiny strip and guess where the controls are?
I can see TouchBar customisation settings just being forgotten all the time like Finder never remembers my Finder view Settings. So far the TouchBar raises more questions and will cause me more problems complicating standard buttons I never needed Upgrading. Fixing a problem that never existed!!
Just adding 1 TouchID button would of been good as the Apple Pay and security login function of the touchbar is the only thing its worth while for imo.

Apple's just trying to get everyone used to iOS features on the Mac, to lessen the blow of when they drop Macs entirely and force everyone into using an iPad "Pro".
