Not really, I can see it being incredibly useful, if you choose to use it.

Maybe if you're an Octopus so that you can use the touchpad, keyboard, and touchbar at the same time, with Iguana eyes that can see the screen and touchbar at the same time.

I'm looking down at my 2011 MacBook Pro. I don't feel even for a bit that I should exchange it for a model which had 5 years to make it better.

I wouldn't either. Unless that Touch Bar makes you squeel like a girl, there is nothing groundbreaking in this to switch from your '11 model.
