There's even a 13" model w/o the Touch Bar for you non-impressed types.
Customer: but their ad said the touch bar on the new macbook pro 13". So why does this MPB13 not have it?
Apple: Oh, that's the low end new 13" that doesn't have it.
Customer: but your ad said it did
Apple: well, the mid tier one
Customer: mid tier new 13"?
Apple: yeah
Customer: but not the low end new 13"?
Apple Yeah

Yup, not confusing at all. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I'm very sad to say this:

I think we have seen the death of Apple. Microsoft has usurped them as of yesterday. The keynote today filled me with dismay. I have been a shareholder since 2010 and made a lot of money. I am considering my options now.

There is a time for everything. A time to live, and a time to die. Rest in peace, Apple. I loved you.

now to figure out how to hackintosh a 17" Razer Blade Pro cuz the features on this 15" MBP... are... ughhhh and I can't let go of Mac OS

OK, MACPRO Towers are dead. Thats a pile of garbage. I guess we are going to windows 10 towers for pro graphics???

For a small home station, I would do the 13" Macbook Pro without the GIMMICKY TOUCHBAR, wait for an external Thunderbolt 3 to GPU case to be supported and get an external NVIDIA card. AMD RADEON is not going to win any GPU awards, and most of the PRO Graphics/Video/3D GPU apps use CUDA most efficiently and NOT OpenCL.

Wait for a GTX 1080 Driver for MacOS to come out, and get back to work.

So sad they killed the Towers.. So Sad...

Prices are still a touch higher than I like, but, Happy to see they have a version with physical function keys, for those that seem to need them.

Prices are exactly what they always are. Base top end MBP 15" is always 2299-2499

I missed the part where they said towers are dead?

They didn't announce everything today. They delayed the wireless earphones and the Mac.

The touch bar is kinda cool, I could see that being useful.. but devote an entire hour to it? are they kidding me? that should have been 5-10mins at best.

Why aren't they updating the entire Mac lineup?
The desktops aren't ready yet. The MacBooks outself the desktops, so that's the priority.

Anyone know how good the Radeon Pro 450 card actually is?
Nope because no one has ever heard of it.... I tried googling it it must be some type of custom Polaris GPU made for apple which means it will be junk as all their GPU's are .... $2400 for this to put into perspective the razed blade with a gtx 1060 desktop class GPU with the same specs and more ports 3K Igbo touch screen is $2,099.....$300 less than this... soak that up

Terribly underwhelming. They did a better job of selling the TouchBar than I expected, but I must admit to feeling a sigh of relief when they announced a 13" model without it, despite it being barely an update on what there was before.
