Aw, looks like no Siri. Ah well, at least there's dictation.

JUST GIVE ME ONE ALREADY.

quad core

So it is not "quad core" as in processing/processor but it has "quad core" graphics? I am traveling and I'm about to hit the road so don't have time to look deep into it at the moment but was just curious as I thought that was a dual core chip.

This may be a silly questions, but are pre-orders only for home delivery or are they available for store pickup?

That will be great storing 3 movies and maybe if you're lucky a couple hundred photos on the 16bg version.

This media event is all filler so far. It's nice that Apple is integrating LTE in their devices now but so far this is a snooze fest. Was hoping for an A6 quad core and improved battery life.

when you pre-order, is the money withdrawn from your account immediately or when the device is delivered?

Still not interested.

It's now slightly heavier and honestly, once again, if I am going to tout around something as big as an ipad, I'd rather just tout around my 13" MBP.

What I'm mostly interested in is an ebook reader that does more than ebooks. Which the ipad is not an ideal ebook reader. Too heavy and too big (I want something I can hold in one hand). Amazon's ebook readers are far better (but not multifunctional). I'd love the fire _if_ it wasn't so heavy. That's what I'd be looking for (and would be bonus to be an ipad since I already have an MBP and an iphone so I could stay in the same ecosystem).

People say there is not a market for the 7", but there is. Poeple like me, or my roommate who is interested in the ipad for use on his small plane (grummen tiger) but the ipad is far too big to be of much use in it (he also thinks 7" is ideal. He hasn't gone to android cause they don't have the quality apps he wants).

I don't know how short your arms are, but I don't think I have ever held my iPad closer than 15". 15" is a lot closer than you think it is.

I am short. But I did use a ruler to check what 15" looks like and I am pretty sure very few people do that. Also, they said people hold iPhones at 10". Obviously a stretch. I am short, and I am pretty sure I hold the phone at about 12" (well, my phone is bigger than iPhone though, perhaps people do bring iPhone closer to their eyes because the screen is small).

Could be just a PowerVR 543MP4, like the one used in PS Vita.

Assuming all other things equal double the performance of last year's GPU... but we have an increase of 4x the pixel, so a GPU bump was needed for sure.

I am disappointed in the lack of 128GB option, wallet saved I guess.. all the improvement so far aren't enough to make this a purchase at all coming from the 2 for me. Even with Retina..

Just "new iPad", not iPad 3?

Ok, then it looks like I'm passing on this "upgrade". I'm good with my iPad 2.

We're all watching the same liveblog as you. When we know, everyone will know.

Just curious for those who have preordered before...

Do they charge your credit card right away or do they charge it when the preorder has shipped?

They haven't confirmed whether it will be iPad 3 or iPad HD or whatever. Not that it's a major issue, but interesting...

This is coming from an android user/ somewhat spec geek as far as tablets .

I was worried about what chip they would use. That should be enough CPU power for a good while, and the quad core GPU was a relief since it was a very impressive screen to power. Most quad core tablets out there can barely take use of the extra cores for anything right now.

Cant wait to get my ipad!

Nor will there be. Apple never mentions RAM.

A little underwhelmed here. I bit with the 4 to 4S upgrade. Will sit this one out.

Yeah! They need to add.... what exactly? What did they leave out that makes this underwhelming?
