I've had success with Wired and CNET from past experiences, as in their sites don't crash. I'm going to give Ars a try too. With all the coverage ipad 3 has been getting its going to be INSANE! IMO, have several loaded in tabs and refresh like a madman!:apple:

The Dev Portal is not down so does anyone think that they will release the GM of iOS 5.1 today?

ATV3 predictions:

1. ATV3 has A5X dual-core chip
2. ATV3 has 16GiB "storage" instead of current 8GiB.
3. ATV3 comes with 9W internal power supply, rather than current 6W
4. ATV3 has same price ($99/119€)
5. ATV3 does NOT support 1080p at release
6. ATV3 updates to 1080p support with iOS update after iTunes store is ready (3 months and iOS6 required)
7. ATV3 is jailbroken within 2 weeks
8. PLEX/XBMC get 1080p out the hardware prior to Apple's official release

I actually don't mind that there isn't live streaming. The iPhone keynote was so boring. Tim Cooke was so boring up there, but hppefully he'll be better this time around. Maybe he knew last time that Steve's time was coming to an end, maybe that's why he wasn't that enthusiastic

The long-shot haptic display has me now anxious to see this... and anxious to see the disappointment on zany people if it doesn't arrive. I think I am actually more interested in what ATV gets, because the rumors of the iPad have been so thorough, fast, and fluid.

Same here.

Why so pessimistic? I think 1080P is much closer than you think.

And as for being jailbroken, is that 2 weeks from announcement or release? I'd say within a couple of days of release, which of course could be 2 weeks from today. Or today could be the release based upon how much air freight Apple has been slinging around lately.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Engadgets my favourite!

I usually start with Ars, but bounce over to Engadget if (when...) Ars runs into technical/bandwidth issues.

Might also check out The Verge since they’re new and have been doing a decent job with Apple related news (might also have less traffic[?]).

Totally stoked about this! All our questions will be answered in a few short hours! Better get the beer and popcorn out...

On that note, does anyone know if there will be a live stream? Doesn't have to be from Apple ;]

Apple doesn't believe in livestreams, too afraid of messing up and not being able to edit it out.

My girlfriend has a cousin who heads up security for Yerba Buena Center. He texted what is written on a just-unveiled banner. Apparently, the new iPad definitely is going to have a retina display. But what's cool is that the display can be removed for security purposes, kind of like how you can remove the faceplate of a car stereo.

Anyway, the new iPad is not going to be called the iPad HD, iPad 3, or even iPad Retina. Because the display is removable, it will be called the iPad Detached Retina, or just Detached Retina for short.

True story.

I gravitate towards Ars Technica since the editors and reporters seem to be very informed, have the least amount of brand bias, and (no other way to say this) lack the "15 year old" mentality of most 'drool at this gadget' sites.
