The new iPad 4th gen is one of bigger surprises from Apple in recent memory. We've heard very little about the A6X update.

Wonder how it'll affect the March release date now?

ipad mini ROCK!

Yeah? How's that?

Does the iPad 3 do any less than it did when you bought it?
What features have been removed from the iPad 3 today?

The only way it's "obsolete" is if you feel the need to have the latest and greatest purely for the sake of having the latest and greatest.

Which is the way the hipsters think, which is why many of them are so mad right now.

Hybrid drive

The Seagate Momentus XT 750 GB drive is way better/faster than the old 500gb drive. They changed it quite a bit to make it work way better than that old school 500gb.

FU Apple. I didn't buy the iPad 2 and waited for the new iPad in March. So I ordered it and now I get screwed when an updated model is put out 7 months later? Way to treat customers. I would've been fine with an iPad Mini. But they didn't wait until March 2013 to refresh the iPad - they did it 7 months later. This is going to anger A LOT of Apple customers  ......

Technology advances every minute, get over it.

"Why does Apple stick with the yearly update cycle when Android devices are being updated constantly? Apple is being left behind."

"I can't believe Apple updated the iPad after only 7 months. I'M PISSED!"

I really don't understand people.

Agree. HP, Dell, Samsung etc all update every two months or so. Apple updates yearly or in this case 7 months, that's not bad at all. You've gotten months of use out of it, the resale value is still good compared to competitors. Just sell and get the new one?

You just used the term "obsolete" to describe the older divice, which it isn't. It's really funny how so many people allow new Apple products to upset them.

Don't bother trying to talk any sense to him. He's clearly already made up his mind.

Fused together!!!

Basically Software RAID.

No, it is caching and you can already get it for Windows and Linux. Well, except the windows and Linux one is better cause it can cache writes and write them to the HDD later if you wish. Fusion drive seems to be read only.

I will say - part of the reason my Nexus 7 got the axe (sold it) was because the apps were really pretty terrible compared to my iPad.

Probably because the Samsung Note looks like an iPhone.
When did Apple make a +5" phone?

There's a sucker born every minute.

What the hell is the point of putting a last gen chip for a new product...?

Did not see that iPad 4 coming, that was straight out of left field. Nice job Apple, this is actually a very impressive AND product heavy event.

Guy just compared browser UI when trying to say the iPad Mini has more screen real estate...why not put both in full-screen?? Tab bar size of one application doesn't dictate hardware screen size...

The masses will buy the argument though...ha

I can't decide whether I'm in love with the new iMac or whether I'm annoyed that they are focusing too much on making it thin.

Same here, and I'm not liking the absence of an optical drive, nor not knowing if we can upgrade the RAM at will, or if you have to do it at checkout only.

At least the new iMacs are out -now the choice between old refurb and new thinness...

I'm confused. He's comparing all the screen real estate to the nexus 7 right? I thought the N7 had higher resolution?

SO NO OPTICAL DRIVE FOR IMAC? So Apple assumes everything is moving to streaming for movies and music? I still would like to rip my music and we can not rip DVDs through iTunes until the movie industry sucks it up. Sucks that we would have to buy separately a super drive separately costly now.

It's sad that it was removed but I assume you can purchase an external blue-ray drive.
