FU Apple. I didn't buy the iPad 2 and waited for the new iPad in March. So I ordered it and now I get screwed when an updated model is put out 7 months later? Way to treat customers. I would've been fine with just an iPad Mini as a new product introduced today. But they didn't wait until March 2013 to refresh the iPad - they did it 7 months later. This is going to anger A LOT of Apple customers  ......

How so? It still works well. I'm keeping my 3rd gen iPad. It's mostly a spec bump. Note that it didn't get a significant redesign (it isn't thinner, lighter, etc.). It makes sense now that the chipsets are available for Apple to support LTE in more markets, and they obviously want to push out the Lightning adapter. They could have done just that, but they decided to throw in a faster processor. That's a good move, as far as I'm concerned. It keeps it fresh for the holiday season. I'm sure some people would have been leery of buying a 3rd gen iPad in December thinking that a new one was around the corner in February or March. This way it is "fresh," and it sets a precedent for potentially more frequent, more incremental updates.

Likely because it isn't working as hard (pushing less pixles). I would imagine the speed will be similar to the new iPad in games because of this. But future benchmarks will tell.

cheaper to just produce one kind of CPU

I bet the A6 in the ipad Mini don't meet the spec for the ipad 4

You should.

Lol, why? My iPad is fantastic. Sure I'll want to upgrade to the 4th gen - but I'm in no rush. Especially since I betcha the rush for this one was to unify the connector across iOS devices meaning the 5th gen won't come out until next October. I've got Christmas and a birthday coming between now and then. Plus I can sell my current one when I'm ready to upgrade.

The iPad mini looks really great - just need to see the display for myself.

Don't be mad all you iPad3 owners you now have a device that will increase in price in about 50 years when they are considered the rarest iPad ever sold. :D

Hello iPad 4th gen

Have fun playing the LCD panel lottery with iPad4.

With iPad3, it was the most miserable experience I've ever had with an Apple product. Multiple color hues noticeable upon first boot up.

Anyone noticed how they only seem to be showing the white one in the video? Seems like they already know we'll have 'bitch-gate' with people moaning about the black one scratching.

The iPad UI just looks so outdated nowadays.

So much wasted space, it's like a children's device.

(Oh, the amount if emails im gonna get for this )...

It'll be the most i've ever had for 2 years

Guy just compared browser UI when trying to say the iPad Mini has more screen real estate...why not put both in full-screen?? Tab bar size of one application doesn't dictate hardware screen size...

The masses will buy the argument though...ha

1. Full screen has no effect on the size of the page more than it getting a bit more room vertically. It's still the same size horizontally, and the pictures and logos and such will be just as big as they would be in fullscreen.

2. The iPad doesn't use full screen, if they are going to compare, they are going to compare them under the same premises...

It is odd, it is present tech not dated tech, some people use their computers for everything. However since they went so thin with the iMac I what they are trying to do. Even so optical media is still useful for media viewing.

Hahaha, the guy in the video just pulled the mini out of his pocket and took a picture:rolleyes:
