For serious typing I use Matias mechanical keyboards, but I have found the MBP keyboards to be the best I have ever used when it comes to laptops. Hopefully the retina Macbook keyboard is nice too.

Same. Always gone mechanical for real typing at the desktop, and love the MBP keyboard out of all laptop's I've owned/used. I hope the new keyboard is as good as the scissor design, as I can see them integrating them into the next generation MBP's.

Yet that is NO excuse for them not increasing the battery life and putting this 'force touch' trackpad into the 15" model the same as the 13" one.

that means you have to redesign the whole laptop, which you might as well wait for a new CPU

Apple had six months and this is what they present, God awful and boring, good luck selling this trinket.

I can't keep thinking to myself.... The phone bouncing on her arm is tracking the same data as the watch...

Add 3 more of that port + a processor that can actually do something more than browsing and I'll buy this right now.

As of now this is a beautiful machine that improves on some things that are very important to me but sacrifices the very basics of what I expect a laptop to do. In other words, it's nearly useless.

These focus-grouped presetation videos are like being stuck at a sales convention. I guess the disaster victim/motivational speaker is up next.

Best keynote I've seen them do in quite some time. Pretty great MacBook.

But geesh.... 8gb ram...

None of the ultralight laptops from any manufacturer come with more than that. Even the much larger Dell xps13 or Lenovo x1 carbon start with 4gb and max out at 8gb.

MacBook needs 2 USB-C ports, not one.
I thought touch ID would come based on Phil Schiller's comment regarding their combined efforts in creating the new MacBook with their iPad in mind. That, or Apple's version of Surface. WWDC 2016, perhaps?

I think Apple ignored the fact that the Surface 3 even exists.
