Well,
Don't get the Event's message "it's been too long"

AppleTV = no update
TD displays = no update
MacMini = small update

Two of three of Apple products that have not had a major update in long time still as they are.

Disappointed with there being no AppleTV news. That is a stale product, that while it is still great, is overdue for a refresh.

Still don't know why they haven't opened it for Apps. I guess they are waiting for Google to be first with their new Set top box.

I'm wondering this as well.

Even Sony's getting into the game with the little PlayStation TVs that pair back to the PS4 for remote play, access downloadable PSOne/PSP/Vita game, and cloud services for PS3 games. Basically the three core functions we've been asking out of the AppleTV for a while now. The AppleTV will kinda do the former with AirPlay mirroring, but you still have have the controls trough the primary device.

The Chromecast is out and does the only real function of the AppleTV for less (device mirroring) provided it can run some flavor of Chrome.

The Microsoft Miracast exits, for what that's worth.

SteamOS with desktop sharing and various flavors of SteamBoxes are rolling along kinda sub rosa.

Apple's kinda leaving it a bit too long, and really starting to bloat out the AppleTV's screen with "partner channels". Yes, bloatware. The only thing the AppleTV has going for it, that other devices aren't allowed to do is use the AirPlay protocol. Everything else other companies are doing, and arguably doing far better.

I've been tasked with getting my parents updated from a nearly decade and half-old CRT to a new "digital" setup and am shopping for middle-man boxes between their older entertainment cabinet and the new TV. They are a very Mac heavy household, but I can't justify the AppleTV as it exists. The lack of HDMI pass-through kills it almost immediately, without even looking at other missing functions.

Probably 1GB since they didn't show split-screen multitasking. I seriously thought that was coming. Probably the rumors are for the iPad Pro.

currently with no iPad in hand,
if possible i would like to get an iPad by feb 2015 for work convenience.

should i get a iPad air 1 or 2 now?

or should i wait for the future iPad with 2gb ram?

While I am disappointed at the lack of anything Mini, the Air 2 seems like quite the amazing piece of work. I'm impressed they managed to shave more weight and thickness from it.

Still unsure about getting it, because I prefer the size of the Mini, but still, it's pretty compelling.

I thought they were gonna do that. Tim was making such a quiet speech at the end and I thought he was gonna spring the new AppleTV on us. I'm still holding out for one until they do something amazing with it.

I also thought this. Then I saw the quote about how we want to immerse ourselves in a huge screen, or something similar.

The despair! But seriously, if the new iMac is even remotely workable on then colour me delighted.

I was wrong about the ipad.

there are 56 sku's now. thats crazy. will retail stores carry that many?

corrected. not 46 skus

Once again.

It's Road Trip.

(I must say I hate half sizing everything to upload screenshots)

Apple is becoming boring and predictable :(

They don't want to mess with a formula that has been continuously working well for them. This could bite them big time in the near future as Google and Microsoft continue to improve their wares.

Big mistake not upgrading the new iPad mini to match all of the specs of the Air 2. At least it makes me happy that I can stick with my 2nd gen retina mini for another year. What fool is going to spend that much more only for Touch ID and a gold finish when the mini 2 is still on sale?

So funny how the first thing about iPads they touted was the mini's 100% satisfaction rate and then they do this.

Google is a thing. Use it.

Also its a 27" 5K + 2014 Desktop computer.

All I found was an industrial grade 4K monitor for that price.

I could get a LARGER 4K monitor and build a computer that could output 4K for much less, but the iMac has a few things I wouldn't be able to just buy off the shelf.

And you'll probably have

that same IDIOT trying to bend the new 27in iMac claiming that it bends.

And the Windows trolls will be coming out in force. Can't wait for the trolling to start. This will be interesting to see what BS they come up with.
