am i correct by saying that other than the touch ID on the new ipad mini 3 there is absolutely no difference with the ipad mini 2 (performance, hardware...)?

Did anyone catch the names of the healthkit apps that were mentioned in the Apple Event? They looked pretty interesting, I'm hoping that the second one that he said talks with other devices will help integrate fitbit into the Health app, since fitbit themselves don't seen to want to do so.

40 minutes to go over old information (Samsung-like terrible faux comedy)

20 minutes for enhanced iPads and iMacs

3 minutes for - "by the way, we upgraded Mac Mini"

I feel my stock portfolio heading south - better jump over to Schwab...

Seriously, why did this warrant anything more than a press release?

you forgot and hour and a half of how seemly everything works well with all devices and continuity.

Is anyone else really disappointed that they didn't announce a Thunderbolt 2 Display with 5K Retina for the Mac Pro? :(

Did I miss the iPad Mini 3?

Seems like he just name-dropped it in the last minute but never mentioned anything else about it.

So they spent less time on the mini than what taking pictures with the iPad Air 2 is like :/ ?

Well, what else are they supposed to do? It has all the features that the iPad air does. Do you want them to spend 30 minutes showing you all the same features again but just with a smaller device?

Does people really buy iMac to play games though??

idk.

but anything that requires gpu power is going to be seriously stressed at that resolution.

the price of it seems very fair considering the dell 5k monitor is rumored to cost the same.

According to this:

http://www.apple.com/ipad/compare/

No. There is no difference other than Touch ID and the gold color.

And yet, it's 100 dollars more?

This is incredibly insulting. I do not see a reason why they couldn't have upgraded the specs, the weight, the thinness... something.

Yup. Just added Touch ID, new storage and Gold options. Everything else remains the same.

The website is updated now with the new products..

A few things I've noticed:

- The iPad Mini 3 retains the mute/lock switch, unlike the iPad Air 2 which has lost it

- No change in any of the iPad Mini specs with the 3. Which perhaps reflects the fact that last year was a surprise when it got all the same updates as the larger iPad, such as jumping from the A5 directly to the A7 chip, and getting the 326ppi retina display.
It's still 331g, and unchanged cameras.

- The iPad Air 2 is still the same 264 ppi display. Perhaps next year's iPad Air model will get a display improvement?
But it has dropped in weight a small amount, down 32g to 437g
