Great Apple. The Aluminium bezel was fantastic for education, more durable. Magsafe was also fantastic for the same reason. As was the SD card reader etc.

I am guessing this is using the system board from the MBP 13" without Touchbar (which is probably now End of Life)

It's looking that way which is why the base 13" hasn't been updated. $1299 then?

yeah that was my biggest complaint with the 2015 MacBook Pro when I bought it. the camera wasn't great at all

Ports are going away. Even my “business class” HP EliteBook is shedding ports with each generation. Thunderbolt is starting to take off.
