Maaaaaaan

So what if Tim Cook needed a new computer tomorrow, what would he do (since Apple apparently doesn't make them anymore), buy a Dell? HP? Sometimes an iDevice won't do, you know...

Wait, so are those $159 earpod things not Bluetooth? Just "W1"? So they can only be used with the iphone 7?
If you look at their tech description they are Bluetooth, and work that way with lots of the older phones/pads. COmpatibility goes back to iPhone5, iPad mini2, air, and even an iPod. But the new features of single click connect and transferring their connection to other devices via iCloud need the new ios10, watch3,MacOs Sierra. Looks like the W1 chip is more of an internal upgrade, though maybe it improves the Bluetooth connection.

Phones fit in your pocket and are always with you.

MILC cameras are pocket-sized. And the iPhone 5 camera was good enough for 99.9999% of pictures people are taking with their phones right now. In the grand scheme, the difference from the iPhone 5 to 7 camera is very, very tiny. The grand scheme being from any cell phone to any MILC or DSLR.

Cameras are not a distinguishing feature for a cell phone. They're all in the same ballpark which is decent for a point and shoot but crap compared to a real camera.

So for Apple to spend 25 minutes on their new camera really shows how little they've got to talk about.

Pocket-sized is different from fitting in your pocket, specifically jeans/pants pocket. The biggest large-sensor camera that fits in the pocket (and just barely) is the Sony RX100 line, with a 1" sensor.

Holy S***

Nope.

Think I'll have a nice few days of vacation instead and buy something nice for a friend while I'm at it.

It's just a phone that does phone things and my current is good enough.

That's way out of impulse upgrade territory, and a downgrade anyway with lack of headphone jack.

Not to mention there are any number of$150 Android phones that do everything most people do on a phone.

Apple jumped the shark with Beats. This is just continued confirmation.

Just upgraded to the GM straight from iOS 9.. And iOS 10 def has a lag to it compared to iOS 9.. But who knows.. it could be due to "indexing" lol

What could have been omitted, and no one would have missed it AT ALL:

As if this whole pathetic "Pokemon go" fad wasn't daft enough, causing manchildren worldwide to further delay their postponed journey into adulthood, having it taken SO SO seriously on stage by this "Niantec" bloke was just hand-slapping-on-face beyond many levels of retardation. This is such a retarded concept - GROWN ADULTS zig-zagging all across the countries of the world "collecting" fake, virtual demons wasn't bad enough on a LARGE screen (yes, this game is subtly and seductively demonic - VERY DANGEROUS - of course you can't see that overtly if you are not a Christian... I digress, slightly.)

There's something SERIOUSLY retarded and ugly about how app-obsessed this generation has become. OPEN YOUR EYES - physical AND spiritual, your life is SHORT - we pass like a vapour into the next life - abandon this juvenile, deceptive nonsense.

What I liked or loved:

~ Tim Cook car pool singing with James Cordon was utterly hilarious, and it was genuinely nice to see him having a right old hoot :D

... I'll add more if and when I see it (only half an hour in, so far) and if I can be bothered to.

Not really. The prices on Gazelle yesterday were less than the value of my Apple Upgrade Program trade-in. Granted, the latter forces you to buy AppleCare+, but carriers have options without that.
That's Gazelle, who offered me a whopping $290 for the phone I just sold for 580 bucks on eBay. After seller fees I pocketed $535 with minimal effort. Sorry but anyone who uses Gazelle or similar services are nuts.

This kind of tears it. **** Tim Cook's Apple. Choke on a watch band, Tim.

#1 Yes, you chose your name, not me.

#2 You're nice - who needs arch enemies with such vile and hateful comments like yours?

#3 Grow up and be a man, and learn how to speak well of people.

Not much different than seeing 16 bit Esque games on Android and iOS recently. People like retro, this is nothing new.
Do you like retro? I mean, do you like it so much you would invite Mr. Mario himself to it on the main table and cut the wedding cake? Because that's what's happened. Five minutes in and that Japanese guy is on.

This thread was actually more entertaining than the keynote. I didn't watch this one live as I had to take time to watch my paint dry.
I scanned through to catch the highlights (?), but by the time I got to the end, I was caught off guard by the train wreck with the giant bow.
So now, something else to carry around and keep charged. Guess I'll need a new pair of cargo pants to hold all the adaptors and charging cables. Wireless? Really? Think I will pass on this one and just buy the SE.
Not trying to be snarky ( OK, maybe a little), but I wasn't amazed, excited or made to feel magically.
The watch upgrade was to be expected, but my first gen will last until gen 4. the 7 uptick was OK. Nothing to get excited about.
They need to revamp the entire way they do keynotes. I personally do not care for Tin's style(?) or, IMHO, the path he is taking the company. (Yeah, so they have a lot of $$$....). Was this the road path the Steve left behind? Beginning to think Tim went another direction to appease the shareholder's. (Oh, well)
