"Courage, the courage to move on"...

no... COWARDICE... the cowardice to not stand up to Ive and Dre. This isn't about a magical experience, or improvement for customers... this is 1000% about selling wireless Beats products. DON'T tell me about "Apple and the Floppy Disk". The floppy was already obsolete when Apple removed it.
Headphone jacks are FAR from obsolete. There is a reason that the 3.5" jack has survived since THE 80's!!! Those Airbuds are going get lost 4 times a day, and not be charged when you want them... but... BEATS !!! Apple cares more about Dre than it's customers. Apple has now fixed another things that was not broken. That's not innovation, it's money grubbing. The winner here is clear... Beats and Samsung.

"back when Apple was a computer company...." Eddie Cue - 2016

No worries, mate. Sanyo, Acer, Samsung, etc have plenty of phones that will make you happy.

I'm digging the black and jet black colours but nothing really interests me to spend the extra money on the 7. My 5S is pretty much dead so it looks like I'm saving a bit of money on the 6S.

Why did anyone think Macs would be at this event? It will be attached to the iPad one.
MR members can be somewhat delusional in their expectations. It was fully realized what this event would be about months ahead. Barely any of it was new information.

Yeah, $159 for AirPods... not for me, especially since I expect them to be not so comfortable and only come in white....

And from the looks of them, VERY easy to lose.

Very stupid choice to go proprietary on the wireless audio. A proprietary wireless chip combined with overpriced Apple/Beats headphones so either no 3rd party headphones or only insanely priced ones.

Not at all what people want. Apple will stick with it and profit some but it's ultimately a dead technology.

What would serve people best is if Apple and Google cooperated to design a new wireless audio format with wired-quality sound. It could be like the WiFi of audio.

I don't really need any more Sia. Tell me about a Mac Pro.

We've been twisting in the wind for too long.

Some interesting under the hood specs. $20 price hike on the + and I'd have to get a new charging dock...so at least $70 more.
Won't comment on any of the headphones / airpods as I am not using them.

So did Apple implement a truly lossless wireless audio technology? There was zero mention of this, so I suspect it's a definite downgrade from wired in-ear monitors.

Really should have had someone more upbeat... I'm getting more depressed by the minute.

So, I'm with AT&T. I usually just do a two year contract (I have one line that is a year old that I hand down to my daughter, and then I upgrade her line - that way I always have an upgrade available). Are the contracts dead? Only options are AT&T Next, Apple Upgrade, or full cash payment (which I can certainly do, if needed). Still holding on to unlimited data - not going to lose that, I hope?

Edit: Yep, I just checked - I can do Apple Upgrade, Apple Installment (no upgrade every year), ATT Next and pay in cash. I like handing my year old phone down to daughter and selling hers, so will likely just pay cash.

What about for a usage case, which is literally every single day for me where I listen through Aux (3.5MM/3.5MM) (2008 BMW) and need to charge (USB/Lightning) at the same time? Just run my phone battery into the ground while I drive now? Thanks but no thanks. And the dual cameras are hideous. Without question the worst iPhone event of all time, and not just because of my personal usage case, but just awful.

same, I bought a £75.00 128GB Moto E android and offline download from my Google Play Music account - brand new unlocked, just for car use, but also spare backup phone (to my iphone 6).
