Probably the best keynote I've ever seen Apple do outside of maybe a couple.

Apple just completely revolutionized the streaming music industry.

Spotify and Pandora are about to become irrelevant.

Some nice things coming to iOS, OS X and watchOS. Nothing stella or really that stand-out. The iPad multitasking features are kinda exciting but nothing on OS X is getting me really that excited. They weren't really clear about what exactly Apple Music is but I think I've just about wrapped my head around it now and will have to make a decision as to whether it's a service I'll find useful, that 3 month free trial will definitely make making that decision easier.

I can't say I'm disappointed cause it's just WWDC and it's mostly about giving developers new tools.

Ps. Did anyone notice the 'ClockKit' note during the watchOS section? Doesn't that sound like a third party face API? They didn't mention anything about that and it sounds like that would be big.

Agree that it was a terrible consumer keynote; not being a developer, I have no idea what the devs in the audience thought, although they clearly liked open sourcing swift. I bet they would have much preferred to hear about an Apple TV app store, which would have been much more relevant to them than the new music service.

No they did mention the clock kit. It's to create custom watch "widgets".. like the current icons for battery, etc.

LOL @ some of the people here hating on Apple saying the developers were probably bored and wasted their money. The Developers came there to learn about coding their apps for Apple's software so they can run their business to make money. They didn't attend this event just to be entertained.

No idea what you're talking about. They didn't even really explain what it is. Does it have song on demand capability? Offline playlists? I don't even know how to compare it to either of those since they didn't explain anything except it's revolutionary and connects with the artists and something about people handpicking songs based on your likes.

On a positive spotify will offer 60-90 free trial. Between that and whatever apple music is, I should get some free streaming in the months to come

I, I, I, me, me me. Thanks for making us understand the keynote should've been dedicated to only you're interest. :)

So you have an interest in watching a woman read 15 basic news articles on her phone while telling us about how beautiful, magnificent and world changing it is? It's all the little 20 min time wasters like that, that made this a boring and drawn out keynote

I originally switched from Pandora to iTunes Radio, and then bought the iTunes Match subscription to get it ad-free. Pricing was fair and it functioned nicely as a music discovery service, with the benefit over Pandora being that I could tell Siri to add a song to my wishlist while I was driving, I could easily jump into the iTunes Music section, and I could use my keyboard controls for the music. Yet a few months in, the "stations" would randomly stop playing, forcing me to manually restart them. It got so bad that at some points a single song would play and then I'd have to restart it. I let my subscription expire and returned to Pandora.

The highlighted features of Apple Music don't appeal to me. While they probably have some features that I'd be interested in, the pricing is also unappealing. They may be matching Spotify's rates, but it's about twice as expensive as Pandora's monthly rate. And compared to iTunes Match of $25 per year, $9.99 a month ($120 per year) is a whole lot more.

Even though it won't entice me to buy in, Apple is trying to change some of the culture behind how we perceive music. That's interesting in itself. We'll see how it's received, and where it goes from here.

Was hoping the rumors were wrong about no TV news but as a longtime  person, I'm familiar with having to be patient while they make sure things are as perfect as possible. Still painful, though. Will have to talk to Comcast about lowering my cable bill somehow while I wait...

I left the UK in 1999, having never listened to Zane and all I could hear was BBC Radio 1. I guess they have a sound alright.

Absolutely. If you listen to Radio 1 in the UK this is almost a carbon copy. Cool DJs, great music. People are going to love this around the world.

What's the betting they'll launch beats2, beats3 etc next year with a more focussed playlist dedicated to specific music genres like dance or country.

While I'm not sure if your post was sarcasm, I have a great feeling you're not too off base.

Exactly, its not a consumers show and made specially for developers so all these comments about people not liking it and blah blah blah, it was a huge success for the devs.

I doubt BBC one will be too worried by beats1. Apple is hoping to throw heaps of money to make it work, though I believe BBC one will remain top dog in the UK , by quite a large margin.
Actually Radio 2 is top dog by some margin over Radio 1

Drats. Was hoping for some nice new hardware.

Hope the dev types got some candy. For me, it was just "meh." iOS9 and OS X 10.11 ("Smell Baloney" or something like that- what a BAD name!) won't be out for a while.

There was meat in the show, just not something for MY table is all I'm saying.
