There isn't. Just Apple putting limitations on for no reason. Especially given how the high end 08 and 09 machines were still more capable than the lower end 09 and 10 releases.

Face and place recognition seem very much like Google Photos, which also recognizes objects, etc. I hope it does not replace the folder hierarchy, as I like to keep my photo library in Apple well-organized.
