To all those disappointed that there weren't hardware announcements, remember that chances are that hardware announcements today would have been minor spec bumps (e.g. MBP with Skylake and no other changes). A radical redesign likely would get its own announcement, or a significant portion of a bigger announcement. For all the talk about "no innovation," there were lots of changes announced to iOS, watchOS, and macOS. Sure, some may be catch-up features, but they are important nonetheless.

My guess is that the updated MacBook Pro is set for a Q4 release (meaning October).

Wow… that was far worse than I expected beforehand. No new Macs, no significant new features for macOS (e.g. new file system, improved graphics APIs), no significant updates to Photos to bring it on par with iPhoto or even Aperture, no iTunes replacement… nothing.

As someone with a company iPhone 5s, based on what we saw today... in your advice or personal dilemna, would you wait for the iPhone 7 or consider a Nexus now? Not sure how serious I'm considering it but it does surprise me the thought even came into my head.

It would be Tim Cook to leave iPad Pro as a paperweight...I wanted more pro-like features and it seems like it will not happen this year. This was extremely disappointing. I'm starting to love the idea of a hybrid tablet laptop chromebook with android apps, it's very easy for me to switch due to the limitations of iOS.

I'm glad I made the right decision not to upgrade my laptop to the latest Macbook Pro (if you can even call that the latest) and got the Dell XPS 15.

The iPhone is now the only Apple product I own. I've said goodbye to the iPad, the iPad Mini, Macbook Pro, and 2 Apple TV's.

We had a good run. My iPhone is on notice depending on the next Android update in the fall.

I was vaguely holding out for 'dark mode' for iPhone, as some kind of consolation prize...
But I don't think they even announced that...?!

Oh god, so the next iPhone is going to be a total disappointment and they also gave us this. Emojis, fun blah blah blah. I will only enjoy some of the new Sierra features.

I have seen every single broadcast Apple Event since I bought a Mac in 2000, and that is the worst Apple event I've ever seen.

Not even close. The all-time low was an event where the major introduction was iDVD 2.

There was plenty of meat here today, but it was aimed at the people who actually code.

There were NO tea leaves that Apple would hint at hardware today. Over a week ago Rene Ritchie said don't expect any hardware at WWDC. Mark Gurman said the same thing. If that bothers people so much then rather than whine and moan here they should put their money where their mouth is and go Windows or Android. Don't just talk tough. Walk the talk.

That's right mate, I believe investors are now walking the walk right now!

I love it all. :D iMessages is my most used app!
I like iMessage too, and it also my most used app. Some of the new functions I welcome, others not so much. Overall the only other thing I really liked was the notifications and NC changes on iOS.

To be fair I only saw iOS forward live, the rest I got from the Macrumors timeline (thanks folks!) so I have yet to see the full event. But I'm not particularly blown away by anything at this point.
