So tell me why somebody would buy a new Mac Pro when you can buy this? And why would Apple invest all of that R&D into a machine that sells a few hundred thousand units a year?

My guess is that the iMac pro has been in the works for quite some time now. The Mac Pro is a recent decision made to assuage the growing fury in the pro community.

Apple should have waited. Instead, they capitulated.

Really getting tired of WWDC being the annual reminder than the Mac is an afterthought. So far, so meh.

I'm happy for those of you excited by the new Mac Pro but I'm at a loss to figure out how that addresses any of the shortcomings they cited about the previous Mac Pro. It's like they had enough presence of mind to acknowledge the problems but then made exactly the same mistakes all over again. Weird.
