FPS will likely be an epic fail.

i played pokemon on a game boy color emulator and it was hard. now imagine a time based game where you have to have quick reactions

I hope these "in-app transactions" don't catch on, or else we'll be nickle and dimed for everything. A new gun? 99 cents. Shirt for your [fake] dog? 99 cents.

O i think ngmocomight be taking the In app purchases a little too far. Buy a rocket launcher? TF?!!

Touch Pet? Seriously? Do they know the target audience of iPhone users?

Yeah that is way lame. Even though I am sure some people will want it, which is OK, I can't believe they are using that as an example at a Press Conference for the new 3.0... that's rather sad.

God! the demos just don't stop!

I don't give a crap that I can spend my hard earned money to buy virtual clothes for my virtual dog. No one who actually knows about this meeting does!.

Oooo now we get to see a leaf trombone

Am i the only thinking all these apps are mostly useless the only interesting thing thus far has been Push notification & Turn by Turn...im starting to doze off on the couch

Uh...what about external device integration? Access to the dock connector and bluetooth pairing?

Any of these things are far more interesting than Copy and Paste.

I love how we see people already disappointed with the "lack of" from an event that's not concluded yet!

These are the same people who will post negative threads even if Apple rolled out a tablet, OS 11 , & the iCar to solve the automobile crisis.

Not sure why people are getting worried about monetization of in-game content; you're welcome to vote with your wallet and not buy this stuff.

Plus, aren't these just examples of what can be done with the new APIs? Isn't that the point?

So rather than any cool new features in the iPhone OS, what we're actually getting (so far...) is various ways to peddle people to pay more money when they've already bought the application in the first place?

f**k off.

AppleMatt
edit: An hour of ways to make people give us more money, as of now.

for a few reasons. first of all there are netbooks that use mac os x. I refuse to use windows. Secondly, i worked at the apple store so i got a 25% discount. so the price wasnt so bad!
ah nice! I use a advent 4211 (msi wind) for light note taking since its a small lightweight netbook and i run leopard on it, I recently did a 15 min presentation on it through OSX aswell which went very smoothy and was much easier than using powerpoint in xp..

The only thing I'm really excited about it Turn by Turn.

Do you think it'll have voice? Probably not, huh? Maybe in a future update?

sad thing is.. there will be people with REAL dogs who nneed some REAL exercise and they will be sitting on the couch playing their VIRTUAL TOUCH PETS.. Then their dog will be an ass because it gets no exercise and they will toss it in the pound because it doesnt behave like their touch pet

Anyone else as sick of previewing apps as I am? Gimme features!!! Copy and paste etc.! We can surf the app store later!!!
This keeps going like this...Palm Pre you're mine!

i can't believe they'll be charging so much in-game objects!!

yeah dude. in first person shooter games... the multiplayer will solely rely on how much money you put into your 'weapon set' - instead of skill.

if there are 3,000 popups to spend money inside an app. i will definitely delete it
