Remember people, I don't think they'll show us EVERYTHING. Even if we don't get Copy & Paste or MMS today, it doesn't mean it won't be on there. The phone doesn't come out until this summer, so there's still time. Maybe they don't want to surprise us, just yet.

Notice how nothing has been mentioned about the touch.......

Either A) Many of this is exclusive to the iphone
B) New touch when 3.0 is released.

My money is on A. I just don't see Bluetooth on an iPod on the near future. but who knows.

If we don't get some miracle last-minute legit. multitasking, watch for my iPhone 4gb up on eBay later today...the RDF has officially worn off, and I'm ready for a real smartphone again.

Why wait? Go now.

Do you REALLY think they'll start the show saying that multitasking drains the battery 80% and then end the show saying "Guess what? We have it!"

If the Bluetooth stack isn't opened up to the same level as my $79 Sony-Ericsson from 2006, and we don't get some miracle last-minute legit. multitasking, watch for my iPhone 4gb up on eBay later today...the RDF has officially worn off, and I'm ready for a real smartphone again.

What is it that you need that push cannot do? (honest question)

What are you talking about? This isn't a new phone.

Network aware streaming video is awesome. Hopefully youtube gets on the ball so that 3G videos don't look like crap.

Clearly! I'm saying, maybe that won't tell us everything in the 3.0 software today. They'll wait until the summer event, when the new iPhone launches.

I don't care about the ESPN app, but this is HUGE in terms of sales. That's a killer feature that many people need and anchors them to other networks since the iPhone couldn't do everything others could until now.

Boring so far.

-> Still no trial apps.

-> Typical lame Apple battery excuse for no multitasking, by using an unnamed, and no doubt worst case, application.

-> Using Google maps API in apps. That's always been possible.

-> Core location. Ditto. So what if they include a library for direction math.

-> Push notification. Still leaving out the details, I see.

BUt of course, they use Valley Girl phrases like "awesome" and "amazing", because people eat it up.

Fair enough. The real issue making me wait is waiting for my camera to be returned by a friend so I can snap the pictures ;)

As to the question re: why push isn't good enough, it's very simple--ssh. I despise having to start a new session just because I want to check my email or send a text.
