AIM vs. MSN - It's Regional

AIM seems vastly more popular with my friends in America. MSN dominates my friends in Europe (mostly England).

I don't know why it ended up that way. While I lived in England everybody used MSN. Before I left for England it was all AIM (and ICQ before that and a very little Y!). Now that I'm back in the US most of the Americans I know are on Google and almost nobody in England is but that's a different story.

Hey, hey, what's with the moaning about June??? Let us develops have a chance to work with this, OK??

This is absolutely, freaking, fantastic!!!!!!

June?

Talk about a buzz kill...

My heart was racing I was so excited about this. Now I wish I'd just been working this whole time and read about it later.

I am sure beta will only be for DEVs, but we will see if anyone puts it in installer or has some other means of getting out to people.

I'm as delighted as the next person but:
The iPod Touch is getting the same update, but there will be a nominal charge, due to accounting purposes.
How do you become an iPhone developer. Go download the SDK for free in about an hour. To publish programs, you have to pay a $99 dev fee.

I'll just keep waiting for all this mess to clear up before getting an iPhone or iPod Touch. :D

It's a mess for you poor sods but you get to enjoy having the hardware. :(

$99 fee to publish apps, even if they're free? And the app store is the only way to distribute...

Way to reduce these devices to toy status. Even if they're very impressive toys.

the only good thing is we saw what they can do in 2 weeks, what will they do in 4 months

Exceptions: bandwidth hog.

I guess this is how they will get out of allowing VOIP, even if you could only use it on your Wi-Fi network.

Developers pick the price, and get 70% of revenue. No other fees. Paid out to developers monthly.

I know there's a lot of cool stuff with this SDK but this is the best news today by far.

You think thats strange? How about how MSN dominates Canada and we're right next to the states where AIM rules supreme. Or how everyone has Facebook in Canada and barely anyone uses Myspace. Its weird how things work out.

THEY'RE CHARGING TO UPDATE THE TOUCH?!

Screw Apple.

What ? I hope you're joking. You really think Apple has a responsibility to give you free updates for life ? Since when ?

If you want to screw someone, screw Sarbanes Oxley
