sorry but I am not going to play any games until I see a controller attachment

Phil can try to convince people all he wants it's not going to work

Well they are hardly "better" if someone who can afford an iPhone/iPod doesn't buy one.

So yes, in some ways, they are poor gaming devices.

I wouldn't buy one...

Sorry, but if you're looking for a quality gaming device, the PSP and DS blow the iPod Touch and iPhone out of the water. This coming from someone who owns only an iPhone at the moment.

I was with this until they started complaining about the DS/PSP. Apple - they are better gaming devices . Very poor show.

Talk about it - I'm yelling at my screen "get to the bloody point, I want my 64GB iPod Touch!"

Who cares that there are lots of applications; those who are interested can do some 'window shopping' at home; just announce the new products already! and get the damn iTunes 9 downloads working already!

I agree. The only people who care for the app thingy are those 14 year old wanna be techs who skipped school just to watch this keynote.

(bad move for being a freshmen if you ask me)

DS = little kids, age 5-13

PSP - teens- young adults.

iPod Tocuh - well, if i had a kid, I would never give my kid such a device.

My kids use mine.... and i'd buy them iPT's before a DS. Told them that today... the price of the games alone makes it worthwhile! $5 if they play a few times vs $30..... no contest!

I can't get the iTunes 9 link in the article to go to a page that has the iTunes 9 download. It opens iTunes, brings me to the iTunes 9 page, but when I downloaded it the installer said iTunes 8.2.1. I guess they haven't swapped out the link yet?

Really?

If I wanted a serious gaming experience I wouldn't touch the iPod with a ten foot pole. But if I wanted to play some fun games on the bus ride home from school then it would be the perfect option.

Bingo. It's a casual gaming platform, way moreso than the Wii and DS that actually have titles.
That graph knocked me for 6 though. 21k games on the iPhone? Great, how many are actually worth it? I have 19 DS games, 14 PSP and countless GBA and I'd recommend most of them. All of them better than any iPhone game I've played.
It's been years. Why hasn't this changed?

No mention of Cocoa in iTunes 9 .... I'm worried.

Madden? I thought we were all waiting for FIFA 10 :p
