Too bad the more exciting news in the entire remastered Beatle's catalog on sale today. ;)

If you can choke down $260-299 for the set.

sorry but I am not going to play any games until I see a controller attachment

Phil can try to convince people all he wants it's not going to work

Well it just worked. They obviously have some major game developers hooked now. These are bigger production value games and it looks like to make gaming even better on iphone/ipod.

No mention of Cocoa in iTunes 9 .... I'm worried.

Madden? I thought we were all waiting for FIFA 10 :p

They're not going to mention it - even if it did occur; the crowd aren't interested in the technical details. Most of them are clueless consumers wanting a gadget - the technology doesn't interest them.

Well my PS3 is a much better gaming experience than an iPhone - oh yeah that's not the point is it

My kids use mine.... and i'd buy them iPT's before a DS. Told them that today... the price of the games alone makes it worthwhile! $5 if they play a few times vs $30..... no contest!

True, but half to 3/4 of the games are all crap. Created by a 14 year old who stole their parrents credit card.

What? DS is more of an everybody device. At least in Japan.

Well thats japan, where the damn DS was created!

and guys, enough with the iTunes 9 download comments. The link will be up after they keynote, along with the store, the new ipod pages etc.

Just like last year people

Caveman!

DS = little kids, age 5-13

PSP - teens- young adults.

iPod Tocuh - well, if i had a kid, I would never give my kid such a device.

Sounds like you would raise a PC child.:D

I gave my 4-year old an iPhone -- His grasp of the controls amazes me:apple:

Really?

If I wanted a serious gaming experience I wouldn't touch the iPod with a ten foot pole. But if I wanted to play some fun games on the bus ride home from school then it would be the perfect option.

Yes, really. I've had a DS (sold it a while back) and own a PSP 2000 as well as a first gen iPod Touch. It's the iPod that gets the vast bulk of my portable gaming because what the PSP offers is, mostly, just the same old games I've been playing for 20 years now. If I'm going to play that sort of thing I'll usually fire up the 360 or PS3. When I'm out and about I want to carry ONE device that gives me something interesting and different to play plus handles all my media and the Touch does that brilliantly. The range of software I've got is superb, from stratergy games and puzzlers through more traditional titles like FPS and racing games and on to the more creative and experimental stuff. The controls are FAR better implemented now than they were a year ago, there's a TON of titles available with a release schedule that makes every other platform look stoneage and there's very little downside as far as I'm concerned.

Not saying this applies to you but ever since the Touch / iPhone started becoming a decent gaming platform there seems to be a lot of people who have a real... well, superiority complex about it. It can't be a real gaming device without buttons etc. In most cases that I've experienced personally it's almost always being said by someone that's never tried the more recent games on the platform and, if they do so with an open mind, they usually seem pretty impressed, at least in my experience.

The Touch's price scaling is way off now. The $299 is going to fly and then you're going to see 16 GB down at $199 in a few months.
