Like most people, I'll probably try the free trial of The Daily. I am interested to see what this product, the first of it's kind I believe, designed specifically for a tablet does differently. If I find that the delivery of this content is in some way superior to the websites of newspapers I read on my ipad, I'd consider it.

My biggest fear, since Murdoch is involved with this, is that it'll have the same "fair and balanced" editorial slant as Fox News. In that I have zero interest.

From what I've read on this, I believe they stated they were going for Centrist point of view.

The Daily is getting WWWAAAYYYYY to much coverage on macrumors. I'm not getting why this is so important. I can understand new apps that do something different than the internet, but lets cover another way to get news. That's what the world needs?!

"In late 2008, one of Fox News' top editors escalated his efforts to have the network portray then-Senator Barack Obama as a socialist and an anti-white racist during the waning days of the presidential election."

How anyone could partake of a Newscorp product after they've been outed as a propaganda machine of the right, over and over, is astonishing.

Steve Jobs is behind this

Murdoch stated that Steve Jobs is behind this project. So I think we can be safe from Fox news point of view

They should have given him another teleprompter, getting a Bachmann vibe with him looking just beside the camera.

Wonderful....

Oh wow, a new and interactive way for the GOP to spread lies. And it isnt even free! lol I guess this is good for the ipad technology wise. Otherwise.....no thanks.

This event is so boring for me. After ten seconds I knew that The Daily isn't for me. Murdoch said it is going to be a national publication...Why not make international versions?

Erhhm. What?
So you think Jobs is going to be editor?

Apple is in it for the cash. Period. No matter what right wing junk this digital rag will print, as long as Jobs gets his money and keeps his shareholders happy he does not care.

All I can keep remembering is that this is being brought to us by Rupert Murdoch, the man who created the organization most responsible for the disastrous level of demonstrably ill-informed information consumers in the world... FOX 'News' viewers.
