Slick design....should be well received. I wont pay for content that is free on the web, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Flipboard! I wish them good luck with this new app.

I am sorry, but there is no way that I would ever read anything from Fox "News", let alone pay for it. We have the Fox channel blocked on our TV so that the filth never gets into the house. A poor choice to startup a new pay for content system.

The Apple rep said that Apple are going to make an announcement "soon" that will open up subscription services to other newspapers (and app makers?).

Really happy with this, and it looks amazing, and easy to work through. Obviously the 1.0 version has a few bugs, but I'm really excited to buy it and use it.

Er, it works on my iPad. Sometimes it is best to try things rather than spout crap that shows your ignorance.

Flash came up on the browser, so it was an understandable assumption. So then begs the question, why did the flash version come up on the browser when it is perfectly capable of accepting the HTML5 version of the video? Still a fail in my ignorant opinion.

I'm with you there. I don't think The Daily is going to be my cup of tea, long-range. I'd like to see some offerings for paid content from more traditional (hell, more legitimate) news operations.

I agree, really interested to see what else develops from these in-App subscriptions.

I'd rather swallow hot coals than read anything from Murdoch and Newscorp.

Oh come on... don't you want to join the millions of Murdoch consumers who have been shown repeatedly to be the most misinformed people in the world?
At least the right wing crap will be presented with shiny pictures and animation now.

I am more than willing to pay for someone to present what I want to read in a lively and organized fashion. The price looks to be very good. It all comes down to reliability and presentation. Sure there are lots of free sources on the net but you get what you pay for, which means the first group to come across with delivering what people want accurately and on time wins.

As for the price, LOL at the whiners who probably already pay eighty or so a month for their smart phones let alone the costs for their iPads. I mean, get real.

Journalist from the BBC asking about the News Of The World phone tapping scandal. Wrong time wrong place haha.

I thought that was a stupid question.... There will be a time and a place to bring that up and it's not here. :D

Good to know it will be coming to other platforms too.

Theres already much better sources of real news on the Ipad

As far as the content goes, I wouldn't want anything that's even related to NewsCorp on my iDevice...

But, as far as paying for a news-publication...? I'd consider it. I see many here balking at the idea of paying for the content when they can just spend all day scouring the web, but if I have to sit through one more Justin Beiber pre-roll ad on ABC News' site before I watch any of their videos, I think I'm going to puke.

I'm getting quite tired of seeing ads on every webpage I visit. And advertising is what pays my salary!

Wow... the question about 'discoverability' of content got spun into an answer about discoverability of the app itself in iTunes store.
Amazing.
