More .Mac Storage

AUGUST 7, 2007
More online storage for .Mac members
Your .Mac membership now comes with a lot more storage, at no additional cost.
Full .Mac members now get 10 GB of combined iDisk and email storage, which you can allocate as you wish. Family Pack master accounts also get 10 GB, while Family Pack sub-accounts get 2.5 GB each.
The data transfer limit has been raised to 100 GB per month for full members and Family Pack master accounts, and 25 GB for Family Pack sub-accounts.
We’ve also increased the amount of storage you can add. Storage upgrades of 10 GB and 20 GB are now available at the same price as previous upgrades, with 100 GB and 200 GB of additional monthly data transfer, respectively.
The additional storage will be available to you within a week. You don’t have to do anything.

Man, mac people can never be satisfied.

I think this is a really good product update.

I don't get why everybody is disappointed, there are a few big\cool updates being announced, even though everybody knew about them being released today, isn't it cool to finally see it being announced, and seeing pictures??

Maybe already mentioned, but the Keynote icon has changed. New iWork as well.

I wish Apple would have invited MacRumors to the event... Gizmodo is loading way too slow and Engadget is a refresh. Macrumors live is the only way to go! sadly.. not today. -
oh well i guess...
new imacs woot.

With all due respect, even if Apple (or any other company) introduced a machine that floated in midair it'd be difficult to talk for more than five to ten minutes on it. Think about it:

"This is our new machine. As you can see it floats. In the air. Without Wires. Or, uh, anything. Did I mention it floats?..... Okay, moving on."

Heck, look at the iPhone which had a LOT of time dedicated to it when it was introduced. How much of that time was on the design and hardware? Ten minutes, maybe fifteen TOPS? In that case it was Big, gorgeous screen. Touch Enabled. Now let's SHOW you how this works by going through the software.

Hardware enables software and that's about it. Anything more than about ten minutes describing a single machine and you get down to the exact layout of the internal cable runs and your audience dies of boredom.
You make a good point, but I think you are overstating it a trifle.

These events are always about the hardware, the software, and the financials in a fairly predictable formula. Perhaps I was overstating a bit myself, but I think it's pretty clear that the new iMac design is basically "ho-hum, let's move on" to Steve.

I will wait for the video to confirm it, but I didn't read any superlative praise or excitement coming from Steve on that announcement.

A color change isn't a redesign.

Black/Silver... looks like Dell.

The chin is still there.

It's not a thinner bezel - it's just a black area around the screen.

Boo.

Love that 1gig of memory on all models.

IMO the new iMac is ugly. I agree with the "white was better" sentiment.

And I really dislike the keyboard as well.

Oh well.

People dream up what they'd like and others agree and they convince themselves that Apple will do it.

really, i think i might cry if there's not something really great soon.... :(

i've seen nothing so far to get excited about. a "new" iMac with a mandatory glossy screen, an ugly keyboard with no number pad, and a whole bunch of .Mac BS.

really, i'm irritated with this. and i'm as big of an apple fan as anyone, short of being a "fanboi". ugh.

There is a number pad. That's been pointed out in several posts.

It is slightly thinner. It doesn't look anything like a Dell. I think it looks pretty damn good (though it could've been better with some of the mockups that've been floating around here).
