How long do we think it will take them to announce price cuts to the pro line of stuff? $999 for a monitor stand? The audience reaction said it all.
Dude, the audience is full of coders. This is WWDC. I really doubt the iMac Pro is not powerful enough for most if not all coders.

Pros aren't going to pay $1000 just for a monitor stand. They'll just get the VESA mount and find something else cheaper.

When you have to sell core components separately to keep the overall cost down, you've priced it too high.

Intel will probably skip PCIe 4 for PCIe5. Launching in 2021
It'll be available for B2B on Sapphire Rapids first, and then slowly go towards B2C. 2022 is a better timeline. Or possibly 2023 if Keller isn't done by then yet.
 
Could you even imagine the outcry if this Mac Pro doesn’t run as advertised.
People were at their limits with their €3000 MacBook pros. Cant imagine with a 10k+ machine.

Looks beautiful though that is for sure.

AppleTV was originally a stripped down Mini.
MacOS, iOS, and iPadOS all are BSD based, the gui/display layer are different.
They are all UNIX BSD.
