Weirdly, as I read this page iTunes played Blur's Coffee And TV. I don't know if that is some kind of Tim Cook-related sign.

What audio are people talking about ?

Exactly. Where is this audio that everyone is talking about?

Really appreciate a link if possible.

Thanx!

I assume people are talking about the audio that goes with the CNBC Squawk on the Street preview video linked in the article.

My take so far:

Walt: A lot has happened between last year and this year. Samsung seems to have grown stronger. Android has claimed a number in their app store that's higher than yours. Your stock is down significantly.
Walt: There's a sense that Apple's lost its cool. Is Apple in trouble?

I would have asked: How is having 800,000 applications in iTunes in a clumsy, non-sortable format more helpful for consumers finding information than Google search? How many of those applications are junk hiding what's actually valuable? Why value a number over an integrated experience?

Kara: But there still is a sense, and Wall Street is sensitive to this, that's there's been an unprecedented downfall of the stock. And you have competent rivals now.

I would have asked: You have peaked in popularity because of something good you did a long time ago. The wave is at its peak, but your software quality has gone way downhill. What happened to making the world's greatest desktop OS? I would list all the bugs with Lion/Mountain Lion and even reproduce big ones on stage in front of him. And then asked for a response.

These people don't get it. They care about Apple's popularity, which is not the same thing as Apple's quality. Popularity followed quality, but it's latent (latent may not be the right word . . . follows after is what I mean to say).

Wow Cook really is saying nothing. What is the point of this interview again?

First enlightening comment about iOS7!

Swisher: "Is it a dramatic update for iOS?"
Cook: "I'll let you be the judge of that, and yes, Jony Ive has been really key [to this version.]

Tim Cook isn't the type of guy for a big interview. Seems like he's more the type you can engage over coffee or a beer. Steve Jobs was able to detail his thoughts on a variety of tech and matters in general that Cook isn't able to. He has a lot riding on his shoulders, and I think he feels the pressure of it. Giving something away, losing the Apple mystique, any number of things. He's out of his element. He's not Steve, and we can't expect him to be.

The only thing Tim said so far that was the least bit interesting was when he was asked about iOS 7 and responded asking how you felt on Christmas Eve. I hope that means something exciting is in store.

Walt: So let's talk about products. Apple is generally perceived as a company capable of changing the game. You've done it 5, 6 times. It's been a while — the iPad mini was a really good move, but it's not a game changing product the way the iPad was.

Walt: I'm not doing word games here. You need hits. It's been a while. Are you still that company?

So why aren't you asking these same questions of Samsung, Microsoft, Google and the rest, eh Walt? What have they come up with since 2010 that is a completely new game changing product on the level of the iPad, iPhone, iPod, etc? What are their "hits" other than rehashes of what Apple has already done? But yet they're not considered to be slipping or losing their cool, so why is Apple?

Damn, why Tim doesn't swat stupid questions like those out to half court is beyond me.

But a phablet is innovation to these clowns.
