I was pleased with what Tim Cook said. I take him at his word when he says Apple's main focus is to make really great products and to justify the trust customers have in Apple.
I also was happy about what I didn't hear.
My take so far:
I would of answered What type of apps that may or may not be useful are useful is a matter of opinion. By giving more apps, give more options. Typically developer apps on our platform are more polished and useable then on comparative platforms.
Stock prices are not always indicative of a companies success. Wallstreet constantly gives the impression of somethings wrong, meanwhile the success of Apple continues to contradict this impression.
I would of answered The change for the sake of change is not always the best way to improve quality, just that it looks different. Just look at Windows 8. Changes so drastic that it confused & alienated its users.
Software bugs are a problem faced by all operating systems, and ours is not the exception.
THIS.Q&A
Q: Should Apple branch out to other platforms (Android, Windows) with iCloud?
A: We have no religious issue with porting Apple apps to Android...if it made sense, we'd do it. Same philosophy with iCloud. Would it make sense? It doesn't today.
Customers are looking at reflectivity and that's why Apple is not offering matte screens in any of their newer products?Tim: A large screen today comes with a lot of tradeoffs. Customers are looking at size, but they're also looking at "do photos show the right color?" White balance, reflectivity, battery life, longevity...all very important. Our customers want us to weigh those and come out with a decision. At this point we think the Retina display is the best. In a hypothetical world where tradeoffs don't exist, screen size would be a differentiation.
You don't know that Apple does not sell Lion anymore and there's lots of macs that can't use ML?I have to laugh at the people that still don't understand why there is no iCloud for Snow Leopard.
There is no reason why you need to be using Snow Leopard. There is no reason you should WANT to. iCloud and Lion are inseparable. I don't think some people have any concept of how tightly integrated Lion and now Moutain Lion are with iCloud.
Yeah let's rebuild Snow Leopard so it can support iCloud... considering that is basically WHAT WE DID WHEN WE MADE LION!!!
Unreal. These are the people that think "iCloud is an App or something."
So what's the point of hiring her then?
You don't know that Apple does not sell Lion anymore and there's lots of macs that can't use ML?
Why there is lots of reason to still use Vista, but not to use SL? Which is better?
Every machine made to run vista can run win7. Not the same with 10.6/7/8.
Lots of people use the OS they have because changing it wouldn't be worth the hassle.
The plain reason for Apple not to offer iCloud to SL is just to sell you a new OS. Same reason why they stopped selling Lion. To sell new macs. They could have written version of ML, which boots from 32-bit EFI, but suddenly they were out of resources...
Btw, I'm talking about app for iCloud. I'm using iCloud with my iOS devices, but it is PITA that I can't use it with my macs. Maybe I'll buy 10.9 just for one of them...
