Fixed what exactly? Did you even watch Keynote?
Of course I watched the keynote. But I'm saying that in the future they may allow live wallpapers to work automatically without pressing down on them.

Just like the fish moved by themselves in the Apple teaser commercial? Did you even watch that?

To make the fish move I have to press it hard and a specific part of my finger...
I'm also having trouble making 3d touch work, I press soft and nothing, I press hard and maybe I get a pop up of the image, the camera icon I press it and nothing shows. IDK if its because I restored from a backup or what though?

EDIT: I finally got it, have to press really hard and the light setting. Idk if I will use 3d touch now because you have to press so hard you need to almost hold it w two hands lol

Hmm.. The one I have seen it is clearly live by touch. Do you have a link to what you're referring to?

You can change 3D Touch sensitivity in settings under accessibility. Change it to "light" and it's awesome.

Yeah, I have it working w light since last night. Still I find that the pressing needing to register is way too much. You waste more time pressing harder than usual than double clicking. Plus it's easier to drop the phone one handed pressing harder than just double clicking. Sensitivity is so ridiculous that it makes it feels laggy.

Imo sensitivity needs to be raised to be 300% more at least to make it take over the home button functions for me.

When setting the live wallpaper, I can press down and animate it. But when it's set as my home screen background I can't. Where are you guys pressing down? Between app icons? It's not working for me.

I would love to be able to wake the phone with 3D touch, activating the wallpaper, but I suppose that means it would activate 45 times a day in your pocket.

Only works on the lockscreen.

I must normally press hard then, I tried setting mine to light and it was way to easy to activate 3D touch.

Thank you but you do realise that ad is about styling, don't you? Not every ads are about function of the product you do know that, right? Surely it's that obvious?.. that they complement the shape of iPhone with the shape of the beautiful fish (and show off the color of the fish/screen too)?
That fish is shot by VIDEO. And not just a video but a slow motion video. A long long way from a photo. No way that is live photo. Surely someone over 10 can differentiate that?
If there's a hint of function from the ad, it's not about live photo. It's for video (slo-mo and 4K)
What will people complain next? That the iPhone didn't hologram wallpaper over the phone like in this ad? I'm stunned.
I'm not kidding. I AM stunned.

What aren't you getting? All I said in my initial post is that they may make an update in the future that allows live wallpapers to move by themselves kind of like the dynamic wallpapers we already have. It's not impossible and it's not infeasible.

This is an iPhone thread so this is where community members come to discuss our thoughts, comments, and concerns on different matters.

If you read the posts in this thread many other people have also thought that live wallpapers would work by themselves so I'm not the only one who mentioned that.

You can read through the thread again if you need clarification on how this conversation has progressed with all the participating members.

What am I not getting? This:

I'm sure it will be fixed with a software update.

Still stinks that one of the main features of the new iPhone doesn't work automatically right out of the gate.

Sure. People can want live wallpaper. No problem with that at all. And sure people can be confused.
But your post shows a stunning lack of understanding on so many levels it's hard to believe.
Or are we now in a society that put a blame on someone else first when we don't understand something?

I love how you have to obscure the photo with a finger to get it to move. And seriously Apple, if you have to explain to a user how to "use" a photo then you've failed. So dumb...

Let me rephrase…it CAN be updated in the future.

And not blaming anything on anyone else here buddy. Just letting you know that the majority of members here in this thread thought it would work by itself.

And I'm saying it could be updated in the future to where you can have the Live Photos move by themselves if you want them to in the settings.

Let's not blow this out of proportion.

The watch animations work without touching the screen, I would just assume the iPhone would be consistent. I don't think interaction consistency is too much for me to assume.

I know for a fact that most of the AppleCare reps have never touched an iPhone 6s, and have only seen that very same demo advert, and think the fish should move without touching. Further evidence is shown by the post where the AppleCare rep told the customer the phone was defective, and sent a new phone out. It's easy to assume the fish should just move.

I'm genuinely shocked how incompetently Apple handled this feature. I mean, seriously, if we have to hold down on it what's the point? We'd like to see it move whenever we wake the phone, not have to go out of our way to press down on the screen before unlocking. If we didn't want to see it move on its own.. Get this... We'd use a static wallpaper!
Just a gimmick, like nightstand mode on the watch, cool but requires interaction.

I just figured this out and am so disappointed.
Idk what I did but now none of the live wallpapers will work on my lock screen. I really want the fish to work but it won't. And where do I find to turn the 3D Touch sensitivity down?
Thanks guys.

I think this feature has confused so many people that Apple will have to improve on it. My suggestion is mentioned above. That it animates once when you wake the phone up on the lock screen. And possibly something similar for the app panes...you slide it once and it then animates once until you slide it again.

And yes, the nightstand is another example of confusion. Nightstand implies an always on display....not where you have to whack the watch in the middle of the night to see the time!
