I live in Seattle, but I'm somewhat of a Liverpool fan. I have a scarf hanging on my wall here at uni, and any time football is on Fox World of Sports I try and watch it. It's hard being a fan here, but it makes it all that much more interesting.

Unlucky lads, it seems lots of teams are having troubles with quality keepers at the moment.

I've been a supporter of Dudek over the years, but this is probably a cock-up too far, I don't see him recovering from this in the long term, Rafa will look for a replacement once Kirkland is fit (if ever).

It was a big ask to expect Morientes to step up after so little footie this season, but he's a class act, and the ball seems to find him a lot in the area.

Pelegrino looked OK, I'm sure he'll be a good signing, but why are we still playing Biscan???? My dog plays better than Biscan, and my dog is crap at football.

I'm hoping that players like Morientes will convince Gerrard to stay put for a few more seasons.

It's got to get better, quicker.

there's plenty of discussion at the lfcny.org forums, but personally, i think gerrard was absolutely horrible yesterday, and biscan, sure he's not great, but he has come on as sub recently and make an impact, for the better.

dudek has to go, now. and benitez' spaniards have to go also, with the exception of alonso and morientes (who looks like he'll do well, some nice touches yesterday). i so want to like garcia, and feel like he's the new dalglish, but after performances like yesterdays, well...

carragher was our best player yesterday, and he was unlucky not to score. shame he can't play at right back though. benitez' fault for playing him there.

the scum didn't win that game, we just never showed up.

As a MUFC fan I feel a bit cheeky posting on this thread and will try my hardest not to gloat!

Biscan has been a revelation for you this season and is actually beginning to resemble a footballer. Despite a few promising matches here and there Carragher just doesn't cut the mustard. Kirkland is promising but should perhaps be put into nursing home with Woodgate. Keano outclassed Stevie G yesterday, showing that the student has yet to become the master (I bit of support from the other players would be nice). Rafa is the best thing that could have happened to you...just give his imports a chance to settle into the Costa del Anfield.

Oh and fair play to whoever chucked the phone at Rooney - the cheeky bugger! :p

**Points to his cosolidation post made yesterday**

It's great to have been born in Manchester...

It was a terrible game this weekend. Anyone would think Dudek was a Man U fan looking back at his record. That's the third year he has cost us against Man U, it just seems completely improbable to happen three times. I do rate both our keepers though we really just need to stick with one and build up the confidence, it does seem to be becoming the year of the goalkeeping errors.

On the plus side we lost to Man only by a goal keeping error despite playing terribly. The defence looked pretty good with Pellegrino, Hyppia and Carragher. I really liked the look of Pellegrino, he was very comfortable on the ball and good positionally, but pace has to be a worry and anyone who watches liverpool regularly would recognise how good Carragher has been this year. Traore still isn't up to the job despite improving significantly.

We were a poor in midfield with Gerrard not playing well and missing Alonso, and seemed a bit lightweight against the sort of five man Man U midfield when Rooney was dropping in. We really need more of a threat on the wings though we need to get behind full backs and we just don't seem to have the players to do it at the moment. I thought Morientes did a good job too, he clearly wasn't fit and wasn't really on the same wavelength as the others but he looked a class above when the ball came into this feet, and he sure took a lot of hits from the good old man u technique of making sure you take the player and then the ball.

On the downside we never looked like winning the game, which is definitely not good against a very poor Man U performance. I'm trying to stay positive as things are getting better....

MUFC, who they? :)

Ahem... I have refrained from gloating so far and so should you.
However, let me just say that I'm Blue by name and by nature...

...and we're not talking Everton.

Take your ill-gotten millions/billions and flee!

Still trying hard not to gloat!

...and Blue, if not Everton then I'm guessing you mean Chelsea?! ;) :p I used to live near Maine Road and hated match days! Still was a bit sad to see them move though.

I can't help it – was a fan long before our Russian benefactor turned up.

Still, at least I can say I have lived near Stamford Bridge for the last 12 years or more...

I do hope it's Man City you're talking about....

eh...

Too quick with my trigger finger :D

It's time Wenger calmed down. I must say I don't get all the news over here across the North Sea, but it seems dear Wenger is a bit stressed. Somehow Fergie gets under everyone's skin. What was the deal with Chealski's manager?
Does that Scott hate every London FC manager?

It's one of his specialities: winding people up. Works very well, too.

It surprises me that a man of Wenger's presence & intelligence will rise to it...

Mourinho, on the other hand, although he rises to the bait, is wise to it and takes it in good humour and with a 10 point cushion can afford to...

I think Mourinho has Fergie licked so he feels he has to go after Wenger, to prove he is still the big man on the block. Wenger meanwhile seems to be really touchy going from unbeaten to 10 points off the lead in half a season heheheh, it's all pretty funny anyway.

That's the point.
I don't think Ferguson's tactics work when you're "up" like Chelsea are now, but work extra well when you're "down" like Arsenal are now.
In a couple of weeks time the Arsenal v ManU game will start. If only Wenger cold stay cool and take no notice of the Scott. Arsenal should be able to win the home game quite easily.

Well done BV, thread succesfully hijacked....

If you want to start a Chelsea thread, go talk to yourself, this one's been doing fine for a couple of years without the help of your lot.... ;)

Leave us true Reds to our misery and uncertainty, I never thought I'd see the day when I'd rather have Grobelaar in goal.....

Things can only get better. And they'd better. Get better that is.

Sorry.

Was just trying to outsmug Munkle who started on about MUFC.

I shall not darken this thread again with any talk of mmpphpphhh...

*slinks out the door sheepishly*

(I still would like to see Liverpool in a Champions League spot though, if that means anything... not sure exactly why. Probably to see Gerrard at play at that level, I guess...)

forget next year, what do you reckon's are Liverpool's chances to WIN the champion's league THIS year?

or even to go past Juventus?

anyone wants to venture predictions for the next rounds/final?
I'd go with either of the Milan teams over Chelsea

so there's a ton of threads on the new iTunes/Music Store (which is great) but on a different note, i've realised that there are in fact a few fans of Liverpool Football Club here :)

WinterMute and dstorey are a couple, along with me of course :)

or indeed any football (soccer) fans in general? and who do you support, and why?

i'm not reading through all this rubbish thread but i'd like to add on the end that as a Burnley supporter I laugh in all your faces.

The amount of times I've checked the community discussion and I haven't managed to spot a thread on the mighty Reds?!?! Bizarre...

Anywho another Liverpool fan for the simplest of reasons - Scouse born and Red born and bred :)
After closing the gap on those out toffee chewing neighbours, I'm a bit (read: really) worried about the lack of strikers now due to injuries and dumb, dumb, red cards. We need a cash injection to get things going, as much as I hate to say it, in the mold of Chelski. Bring in Steve Morgan and his millions, and lets get some contingency players in. And a new keeper. Kirkland - cracking when he's fit (almost never), but Dudeks errors are getting to be unforgivable. We hounded out James for it didn't we?

Glad to hear that the new stadium will be called Anfield though, although they did say that if a particularly juicey sponsorship deal comes along they would consider a name change

And just to counter....

Hmph, and did you really think you'd go much further? Obscurity suits you....
