********. there was still 20 seconds left of injury time and they were wasting time and made a substitution

We outclassed them but football is football. I am pleased with the way we played against them, can anyone say Kaka played like Man U let him. I forgot he was on the pitch. I think this will serve us well for the future, showed that we are a top side competing in one of the top competitions, ill help us draw top players for the future. The expereince is priceless, Gerrard will never want to feel what he felt tonight ever again along with everyone else out there.

2 years ago we showed how good and bad we are and got the prise. Tonight we weren't rewarded. In years to come we will win again, it is in our blood.

I am absolutely proud of our side and pleased with the way the played. Pennant did extremely well, does anyone know if the Curtis Pennant from Nottingham is any relation to Jermaine, too much of a coincidence to not be. If it is then that just adds to his performance because it must be so hard to hear that a relative (10 years old) is lost and know they have to play on. There was even an announcement in the second half.

Think Bellamy is out for next season, he would've played if Benitez was planing on keeping he be it is the experience that money can't buy and Benitez wouldn't waste it on someone he is planning on selling.

Well done lads, you did us proud.

We were wondering that, what with Pennant (Jermaine as well as the mysterious Curtis) being from Nottingham and all that. The commentators remarked on it, and their feeling was that he may well have been a relation.

Feels good, really good.

Whats that comin' over the hill, it's Pippo Inzaghi, it's Pippo Inzaghiiiiii!!

They're perfectly entitled to kill a bit of time by bringing a sub or two on. But the referee did blow for time early. Rafa doesn't look best pleased.

I always thought that referees were obligated to incorporate the time taken for substitutions into added time. Is this not the case?

Thought it was an additional 30 seconds per sub

Also the ref was guilty of listening to the Milan players especially regarding Mascherano's yellow card. The ref clearly did not like the challenge but he gave the "no more" warning to him. Then after some Milan players spoke to the ref Mascherano got a yellow card.

In theory yes, but referees can sometimes be a law unto themselves when it comes to stoppage time and how much time they actually add on. It’s a good job Man Utd weren’t playing last night otherwise we might still be here now waiting for them to get an equaliser. :p ;)

Hmm. Still depressed from losing?

Have cake.

Na, I can't take credit for that, it was my sister.

Well she is very talented, might try and make one for my girlfriend for her next birthday.

Anyway have you seen Rafa has issused a hands off for Hyypia , i thought he was for the chop. But suppose he is good backup incase of injury or players who are in need of a rest.

The new owners promised fans there would be transfer activity this week at Liverpool, so far I am not seeing anything.

I guess its only half way through the week, but I would have liked to have heard a few rumblings by now.

Not exactly first team stuff, but I'm hearing the deal for you to take two of our youngsters is all but signed. Greg Tansey and Ryan Crowther, midfield and wing respectively.

EDIT : Apparently the delay is down to our Physio Roger Wylde being on holiday, so he can't sign off their medical certificates. On the downside for us, it looks like Ben Robinson, our Youth Goalkeeper has been poached by you lot too

Big news. Torres passed his medical on Tuesday and is set to make his 26.5mil transfer or Wednesday.

Ahh more Spanish goodness.

Torres is probably going to flop and this is coming from a Liverpool supporter. Sure he is an improvement and will most likely add something different but that was said about Kuyt (big heart but not going to get close to 20 a season) and Bellamy (just isn't good enough).

Torres needs to score at least 20 goals in his first season (unlikely) to justify his inflated 27.5 million pound transfer. The odds are against him because he has never scored more than 20 goals a season, he needs to adapt, Rafa will probably rotate him a lot. Fernando Torres might be the next Fernando Morientes - great player but sh*t in England.
