I am sorry D:

it happened to me last year, I was working all day, had the Apple paper signed, taped it to the door, the guy didn't leave it, maybe he was worried about leaving it, or he didn't see the paper, I'm not sure

later that night I lined up with several other people at the UPS hub and picked it up

now I just have it delivered where I work, it's easier + usually earlier delivery time

I would be out on the street driving around my town until I found a UPS driver and I would follow that driver to his next stop. I'd then politely ask if he is the driver that delivers on my street...If he is, ask him for your package and tell him your sorry you missed him. If hes not ask him to call the guy that does deliver on your street and tell him you will meet him at his next stop so he doesn't have to come back. I've had to do exactly this same scenario. if you want your phone today you can easily get that phone today....I would already have it if it were me.

Been waiting all day for my iPhone. Nothing. Then suddenly my tracking changed to "delivery attempt made". Bull! My doorbell never rang. So I called UPS. Got transferred SEVEN times. No one wanted to help (yes I was polite). The last rep was extremely nasty. Called me a liar, stupid, and was very condescending. So no iPhone for me because of a lazy driver. First world problems absolutely. I'm just angry at the treatment I received and the fact I have been here all day! I took the day off for nothing and now I have to take another on Monday.

By the way, I was told they are ignoring all waivers on file so no packages will be left and according to them Sprint is refusing to let packages be picked up at the hub. That adds to my frustration because my hub is 10 minutes down the street!
My wife's was scheduled to be delivered today and she was at home all morning. All of a sudden I got a notice that a failed delivery attempt had been made. I contacted her and we finally figured out what happened. The UPS driver went to our neighbors house?!?!?! We know this because he left the 'Sorry We Missed You' slip on their door! I drove down to the hub (about 5 minutes from my work) and had them call the driver and let him know he f'ed up. I could hear him on the phone telling the other guy he's positive he went to our address. As soon as I heard that I told the guy at the hub to let him know that my wife pulled the slip from our neighbor's door. He didn't say anything else for a second after that and then said he would come back by this afternoon between 4-5pm... we'll see...

Kevin, my UPS guy, would never do that to me.

UPS does this all the time to me, I wait at the door all day and then "delivery attempt was made" and it never was. I hate them and that Apple use them.

You're lying. The story doesnt add up. You probably went to take a shower and missed the delivery. Tough luck.

I've had this happen so many times with UPS & Fed-Ex but UPS is worse. You will literally be sitting in your living room and all of a sudden get a notification on your phone that delivery was attempted but no one was home. I quickly open my door, no note, and no sign of a delivery guy. They lie all the time to meet their delivery metrics, it's beyond BS

What UPS does to me is they pull up, ALREADY have the "sorry we missed you" sticker in hand, sprint to my door, slap the sticker on the glass and then sprint back to the truck and take off. I have literally watched them do this before and over the past 10 years or so they've done this to me about 6 or 7 times.

What's worse, I only live about 3-4 miles from the main hub here in DFW. I guess it's just for logistical reasons, but I get all my UPS packages at the very end of the driver's day when he is on his way back to the hub for the night. I get most of my UPS deliveries between about 8-10 PM. It's really aggravating. Sometimes as late as 11 PM.

I'm annoyed that in your signature you state iPhone 7 Plus 256GB Rose Gold when clearly you don't have one. Why do you lie to look cool on forums?

Seriously? I updated it because I bought one and it was supposed to arrive today! I'm not trying to look cool for anyone and I'm certainly not lying!!!!

That's hilarious!

I feel bad for the OP, though. Hang in there, you'll get your phone eventually. No deliveries tomorrow?

Nope. I know I will, and it's not a big deal in the scheme of things. I was just annoyed and being treated rudely on the phone annoyed me more. I know it must suck being a UPS rep on iPhone launch day though.

I'm
A ups driver and they made a big deal about it , I'm in PA. They even said be prepared to make a second attempt. You should have ask to speak to higher and higher supervisors , the higher u go they get serious. That **** would have been hand delivered within an hour

I do not drive due to serious vision issues. :(

Rerouting mine to be picked up at the local UPS warehouse as i have done for the last 3 years. Much easier and nothing to worry about. If you have the day off then your not sitting around waiting, go get it first thing. Changed my Monday delivery already to be picked up at the UPS warehouse.

Since I am being repeatedly attacked now, I am turning off notifications and will not be responding further. I'm not lying. Crap happens. I will be sure never to make the mistake of venting here or even creating any kind of thread again though. To those who got their new phones today congrats and enjoy! Have a good weekend all.

As my original post and several replies stated, I CAN'T! Sprint is not letting packages be picked up, or at least that's what the UPS rep told me.

So glad we live in a small town and know our drivers. If I'm not home they know where we work.

Even if they did deliver correctly, does it really justify taking the day off?

Why not get it shipped to work? Corporate customers always get delivery priority (mine was delivered by 10am), plus there's always people there to sign for it.

I had a dream where a cardboard box was waiting for me to be delivered to its door!

UPS does this. Same exact thing has happened to me being at home all day then getting an "attempted delivery" that never happened. Infuriating.

UPS was terrible when I lived in Manhattan. Our driver would consistently leave packages for three separate, unconnected buildings with one old woman who lived in the center building, just because he knew she was always home. He would make no attempt whatsoever to make deliveries to the correct tenants, but just dump the packages with the old woman and assume we would eventually figure out where they were. No delivery notices, no nothin'. Calls to UPS to complain resulted in nothing but exasperated sighs.

Things have improved significantly since we moved out of the city. In more rural areas, your drivers know you better.

We have a policy at work not allowing employees to receive personal packages. We ship/receive high volume so the warehouse workers don't have time to receive personal deliveries for the 2K plus employees on my campus.

Yep. If I were to have a package shipped to my office, it could take another two to three days for it to find its way to my desk. Not a good option.
