This is a post i used to answer someone on another thread but had a misleading title...

I need to install syslog and get the logs over to david.

heres whats happening with the latest beta.. the latest beta sort of broke the stock message alerts...

if you set up lock info properly, using the stock app you should be able to select "Improved Performance". when you do this, lockinfo will mark all txts as read the instant they arrive. Meaning, you dont get ANY alerts about incoming messages. the fix is, to turn on off Improved Performance if your using the stock SMS app. this fixes the alerts, but re-introduces the delay...

Its fixed now...

Gimzotoy,

Didn't look very hard, did you?

Settings --> LockInfo --> General --> Silent Status Bar Icon

All the other notifications settings are under the Plugins menu, and I spent a good amount of time looking. Putting one setting somewhere else isn't exactly intuitive, and with hundreds of toggles it's easy to miss one.

Settings related to plugins are under the Plugins menu, yes. But what plugin would this be related too? None. That's why it is not under the Plugin menu.

Anyone else having this issue...?
He just updated the beta and I'm continuing to have the NO SMS alert bug. Using the stock app, if i keep his "improved speed" setting on (as it should be) i do not get any notification of txt messages. They are instantly marked as read. If i keep that setting off, the stock SMS app has a nasty delay, but the alerts work. :(

I have beejive installed on my phone but i highly doubt that's causing the issue as it's strictly an IM app. Only other mods running are Longitude, 5 dock, weather icon, and popup blocker.

Anyone else having this?

Latest Beta (Yesterday I believe)

Seems as though ToDo's are not updating (using the Appigo ToDo) plug in.

The Appigo ToDo App is current and displays correctly, also Pocket Informant is correct as well.

Yeah, I've got the same Todo app. Mines not updating either. Not too worried since Davids really fast to update and fix issues like this.

Edit: Todo was recently updated as well.. maybe it has something to do with that and not the LockInfo update.

It is an issue with the appigo todo update that occurred. Vividboarder I believe is aware of it and will hopefully get the plug-in updated soon. (He is the maker of that plug-in and a forum member here.)

Two problems....

1) My Lockinfo plugins aren't showing the "count" anymore. For example, I have four emaisl in my box and their is no "(4)" shown. Same for all the plugins except for Calendar seems to work.

Any ideas? I'm running the latest Lockinfo beta

2) Replacing the original plugin icons is not working anymore. I used to be able for go into the Library/Lockinfo/"Plugin" folders on the iPhone and replace the "section_icon.png". Doesn't work anymore.

Ant ideas?

Thanks...

Got the counts to work I read another LockInfo thread where it was suggested to turn off the visibility of the affect plugin...respring...then turn it back on...and respring again. This didn't work for me but I did the same procedure with the "Show Count" toggles and that worked.

I'd still like to find out why I'm having trouble with replacing the LockInfo icons. I've tried numerous times and I'm unable to change them.

I am using WinterBoard to do this and it still works fine. As often as LockInfo gets updated, it makes sense to use WinterBoard for this.

Why do people continue to refuse to use WinterBoard? It works fine and is not a resource hog nor does it affect battery life.

Same here and it works great.

You comments show you know the reason. It's because it uses resources and slows down the system. It can have a noticeable impact to responsiveness, but if you don't go overboard with theming you could probably keep this to a minimum.

If the only thing you want to do is change icons (or default sounds, for that matter), there's no real reason to use Winterboard other than it simply requiring zero effort. That may be enough for you, but not for everyone.

It looks like the average time between LockInfo updates is about a month if you're not on the Beta, and that average is brought down by point fixes a few days after a major rev. You could easily handle changing these manually without resorting to Winterboard.

If you're on the beta and plan to keep up to date, it would get annoying, though.

The Todo plugin is compatible with the latest version of Appigo Todo. The problem is this this.

Technical Problem:
The database file name changed. When updating, sometimes the old file doesn't get deleted. My app is then picking up the wrong file.

Solution:
Try new test version (1.6.2) http://code.google.com/p/appigo-lockinfo-todo/downloads/detail?name=TodoPlugin_1.6.2.deb&can=2&q=
If that doesn't work, try what's listed on my Google Code page (Should work 100% of time):
Listed on my Google Code page https://code.google.com/p/appigo-lockinfo-todo/

That's where everyone should go if there are issues with the plugin. That said, I do frequently check this thread and my WIP thread.

But it doesn't slow down the system and it doesn't use enough resources to be a problem. That's my point....

why is my quick reply box with BiteSMS not staying on my lockscreen now with Lockinfo??? It used to be if I got a text, even if I missed by an hour when I open the lock screen the Quick reply box would still be present, now its gone after the lockscreen "closes"

I am on latest beta of Lockinfo and Bitesms

I am not having this issue and I am on the latest BiteSMS and LockInfo beta, but I have no suggestions for you :(

For any of you guys out there....

You are correct. I just tried it. But, WinterBoard still changes the icons just fine.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm not using Winterboard. I would assume most are using Lockinfo natively.

Wonder what they are doing to change their icons?

Perhaps, maybe it's improved. 6 months or so ago I loaded Winterboard up on my development phone and took a look at it in XCode's Instruments. The amount of RAM it used for even a simple modification was staggering.

I suppose whether you notice it or not is probably going to be dependent upon how you use your phone as well, so it may not be a big deal to some, and could be a big problem for others. Especially those with a 2G, 3G, or 3GS.

In any case, seems like LockInfo's now pulling the icons from somewhere else. Maybe Stimpy will chime in...

I'm pretty sure it's because you upgraded to the iPhone 4. It's using the High Res images.

There should be two icons... section_icon@2x.png and section_icon.png. The 2x one is for the retina display.

Your'e probably right. I don't think I've tried changing out the icons since I bought the iPhone 4.

Humm....I think I saw a thread concerning Hi-Res LockInfo icons. I'll do some searching.

Thanks...

I tried replacing both icons on my iPhone 4 and it made no difference. Yet WinterBoard, which uses Bundles, is changing the icons. I am not sure I understand why WinterBoard works when the icons are not loaded from where the Bundles point.

Yea, that's curious... I got my info from a user of my plugin who changed his icon. I just passed it on. I don't have a high res iPod or iPhone yet.
