I really like this slant theme, looks really nice. For some reason the slanting themes will not work on my phone. I downloaded this one and it doesn't load at all and tried the Claude one which loads but doesn't slant, it looks straight side to side just the spacing is different. Can anyone tell me why the slanted versions will not work on my phone?

Hmm... all styling is done through the CSS file, so make sure you got that in your theme folder.

OK, I did that easy enough. It does not come up in winterboard even after a respring. Are you sure that is the right theme folder location?

are you sure its not /library/themes/ ?

UPDATE: it is the /library/themes/ folder. I probably should have specified I was on 3gs 4.0.1.

I can't seem to get Claudes version to display the weather. I changed the JS to reflect accuweather and my zip code. yahoo doesnt work either. By default yahoo weather is enabled, I am not sure what to do. Any ideas?
If you have all the files and folders under the /library/themes/ folder, then winterboard should see it. It should appear the same name as the folder.

the weather icon has a box with a "?" in it. Any help please?
Hmm... If you have all the files in the package, it should work. Make sure you have connection and the zipcode is right if you are using accuweather.

Woohoo! Modmyi has accepted my SlantedLock.theme package. Now those who doesn't know how to SSH can also join in on the fun! Just search "SlantedLock" and you'll find my package! Cheers!

FWIW, I'm aware that LockMS is a package on Cydia, though I feel this version has been such a deviation not only from design, but to coding approach that it deserves a different package for pick and choose. I made sure to credit LockMS, though. :)

Which version?

Which version?

My latest version with all the mods I've been doing. Typo fixed, minute spacing fixed. Most notably, I've updated the YahooWeather URL to use WOEID instead of zip code. Yahoo recommends WOEID as they say zip code is now deprecated and will be removed from their system in the future.

Note that I've just resubmitted an updated version with additional tweaks. :) 1.0.1

Hi Claude, loving the slantYAW. How can i get weather to display as im in UK (Birmingham) ?

You should wait and check Cydia for my Slanted Lock v1.0.1 on Cydia. It should contain the fixes and also features WOEID to use with YahooWeather, which seems to be a more reliable source.

WOEID is just like a zip code. you simply stick a string of numbers into the JS variable call woid and set weather source to yahoo and it should work. To obtain WOEID, you just visit: http://weather.yahoo.com. Find the correct city of your location. Then look at the URL of the page, the #### at the end of the URL is your WOEID. This is the recommended method by Yahoo's documentation. Easy enough?

Example:
This is the yahoo's weather report page for my location. It's the URL.
http://weather.yahoo.com/united-states/california/garden-grove-12796653/

See the number "12796653" there? That's my WOEID. You will see one when you search your location too.

Update: got it working, missed the UK from "UKXX0018" string

Did you add ability to do "real feal" thru accuweather? That is why I like them. It may be 92 degress F here in Florida, but when you add humidity it feels like 103, its good to know.

Plus I didn't see a accuweather url in the version you posted a few pages ago. Was this something that needed updating?

You know... That's something I'm really confused about... If Typophone 4 originates from deviantart and is by Angelman8... Then is he the same person as this thread's starter sporting the same theme under a different name? Given no credit was given and there's a donation link and all... The design and code of these two themes(typophony 4 and lockms) are nearly identical!

When rewriting the code, I had stripped out everything besides the bare minimum. I didn't think real feel would be accurate or used, so it went with the rest of the fat... I might add it back for both weather sources later...

I am not a coder, but I have enough experience with other languages that I would be willing to add it in myself. Would you be willing to post the code for me? Something I can copy and paste or replace the yahooweather url src, etc?

I am still waiting for cydia to update to your new version to try it out.

I've been working on getting the lockscreen to show what phase of the moon it is (rather than a generic one) currently during the night time with a little help from Claude and a buddy of mine. I got it working, but there are a couple of more things that need tinkering. Like what time it comes up at. I'm having a little trouble with that. Would anyone be interested in it? I realize that the image for the moon is low res, but I wanted something there just to be able to test it out. I have the regular weather icon set to invisible in that picture, and I got rid of the moon in the night so time weather pictures for the htc set so the moon would just be behind the weather images.

I downloaded latest version from modmyi repo, but had to change the "images.theme" folder name to "images" in order to get the weather icon to show up. Not sure if anybody else ran into that.

I like the final version Claude, but I noticed the 4's in the minutes still touch and thought you had changed that?

Also, is it just me or do some of the numbers in the clock look like they are out of line a little bit.

Keep up the good work Claude. Love the lockscreen and I'm sporting it now.

EDIT "Sorry Claude, just realized Cydia doesn't have the 1.0.1 version yet and you may have fixed that stuff already."

how do i get the weather to work with "slanted lock"? it just shows up with a blue box with a question mark in it

bs...

Claude, Angelman8 had originally made the lockscreen theme.

The thread starter then "cleaned it up" and has claimed it as his own.

So even if people get it from cydia, they will still have to ssh or use ifile to choose their location. I was wondering if there was any way the code could use your current location but I realized that was probably not possible.

Love this theme!! Thanks to all who have answered the questions to make this easy for the newbie's. I've padded the the top to center the image a little more to my liking. Even before that, though, my weather was overlapping with the description. Is this a bug? Does anyone have an easy fix? Thanks all!!

Here's my finalized (I think ... <_< ) edit of Claude's angled version.

  • Removed the F after the temp
  • Removed seconds
  • Placed AM/PM notification inside the :
  • Added drop shadow for : and AM/PM
  • Changed some positioning/angles
  • Moved weather icon into a more visible position
  • Changed icon set to HTC
  • Changed slider graphics

I love the theme, but why does my weather icon in the bottom right look weird and show borders? I turned lockinfo on/off and it still looks funny.

Thanks in advance
