Not usable on a lap is a dealbreaker for me. Not sure why companies have this fascination with kickstands. They take up way too much space, flimsy and awkward. Just make a normal folio style keyboard which is much more sturdy.

I would be buying an iPad Air if they offered this case for the iPad Air 4. since they dont and you have to keep the keybaord attached the entire time its a deal breaker for me.

@Force332 - In terms of the pencil, you can charge it without issue (there is a slot on the top for that), and the strap holds it securely over the top. You can also slip it into the strap itself which is much better for long term transport. Either way, no issues with Apple Pencil at all and I assure you it won't fall out.
Is there a strap on this one? I don't see one on the product page.

At the point you feel this is more cost effective for you over the Magic Keyboard (assuming you even want a keyboard case with a trackpad) I'd check out eBay or local marketplaces for something at a similar cost to this new. The alternative will be used, of course, but may be preferable form for you due to ability to use on lap, the lack of edge plastic – keeping it a bit less bulky, with the trade-off of less protection – and extra lightning charge port.

While there were some mixed reviews from past owners of the keyboard in this thread, from the look of things I'd say that in theory the Logitech design looks very useful (detachable keyboard, more angles, etc.) assuming the quality is there.

Also these aren't for sale in Canada, for whatever reason.

Quick edit: I re-read the thread to see specific complaints and there wasn't enough to substantiate what I thought I had read. Also some people do like it.

Does this keyboard support all the gestures? I remember back when I checked it out it was only available for the 11" iPad Pro.

I have a 2020 12.9" iPad Pro and the Magic Keyboard. Like others on this thread, I wanted a way to secure the Apple Pencil, because having it hanging out there naked was a guaranteed way to lose it.

After much searching, bought a Switch Easy by Coverbuddy, which has a slot that helps secure the Pencil and works with the Magic Keyboard, but even with the slot, I've had the Pencil fall out, so I now secure it with a piece of tape.

Had one of the first 12.9" iPad Pros and got a case by STM that had the perfect slot for the Pencil and was very good at protecting the iPad.

If anyone has a better solution for protecting the iPad and securing the Pencil, in addition to working with the Magic Keyboard, I'm all ears.

I have the 11" version of these keyboard. It's a good keyboard and trackpad for considerably less than the Apple alternative. However, I do find getting the iPad out of the keyboard enclosure a little awkward (but no two ways about it, I am awkward). For multi mode use, I think the moving between smart keyboard and smart cover is going to be more fluid.

STM finally came out with a new model of the Dux Shell - Apple even sells it on their store. I had wanted one for so long and wasn't willing to settle for the Cover Buddy or the other popular one. The new STM works great.

Any thoughts on this vs the (also unreleased) Brydge 12.9 MAX+? They're both pretty heavy with trackpad and function keys and in a similar ballpark for price ($230-250), but the Brydge looks like it'll be easy to extract the iPad from plus you can use it on your lap and at any angle.

Bought the 11inch version and it seems they fixed most issues with this updated model. The trackpad is now one large button which is great compared to the diveboard one that gave me issues. They removed the pencil strap which would often just flap around annoyingly since it had weak magnets. They also made the keyboard removable which can alleviate some of the weight Since this thing is heavy.
only thing that would make me buy this updated model is if they made It in a dark black. as much as I enjoyed the protection it offered, I really didn’t like the old grey couch material they chose for this case.

Magic Keyboard is a better buy at that point since you already breaking $200. This is a good buy for $130 or less.
I disagree.
Was faced with the exact same "dilemma" and chose the Logitech one.
Simply because it has functions keys, and... most importantly... I can REMOVE the keyboard and just use it as a standalone case that allows me to prop up the iPad.
With the Magic Keyboard... you'll either have to use it... or once you remove it, have a naked iPad.
Since I'd do this quite often for hand-written notes and stuff, the Logitech solution just made more sense.

But I'd not disqualify the Magic Keyboard either! Far from it. It really depends on the individual's needs and use cases!

Seems like they fixed the main issues from the folio touch. Although bulkier than MKB, it’s the most versatile and functional (pun intended) keyboard case you can get IMO.

Why are the iPad keyboards so expensive. Add this to the price of a new iPad and it would be cheaper to buy a MacBook Air.
It is cheaper to buy a MBA even without a case.

$1199 for iPad Pro 12.9 inch with 256gb storage vs $999 for MBA same storage. And you can get the MBA on sale for $899 if you shop around.

Thought about this one as well.
Problem is: it uses BT and needs to be charged separately!
Plus, if you remove it... it is a naked iPad again.

Not saying this is bad keyboard-case. Far from it.
But if you want an objective opinion... the new Brydge, the Magic Keyboard, and the Logitech Combo Touch are ALL great, with their own set of flaws... and appealing to different user groups and use cases.

The iPad came off the magnets far too easily. Inability to set any angle you like. The feel of the keys and the fabric.

I have a bluetooth-connected hinged/strong case with backlit keyboard I got off Amazon for about $50 that works great.
You’re talking about a Magic Keyboard though….the Logitech has no magnets affixing the iPad to the case…

For me, the killer feature is the Surface-like design - that you can remove the keyboard to save weight, while still using the iPad with the back protected - and you can prop it up with the kickstand.

I had the Logitech Slim Folio Pro for my 2018 iPad Pro 11 inch and it was wonderful so I think I will be buying this case. the apple magic keyboard Im not a fan of because of how you connect it magnetically to the back of it..prefer a case like this..I wish the keyboard did not snap off but maybe its something useful.

Umm... it is NOT powered by the Smart Connector.
The LOGITECH ONE is... but he was asking about the BRYDGE one which is using BT!
