It's a good upgrade, overall. The Action Ring is nice, otherwise I would have got some 3rd party alternative instead, which wouldn't be as functional.

The haptic needs more software support.
The scrolling needs more resistance.

Thanks.

Every time this series of mice is mentioned online people say that you have to use one or two different apps to get it working properly on a Mac.

Are you using those? I can’t remember the names of them. Better mouse might be one.

The mouse is good but I think I prefer a lighter mouse so looking at a Ultralight 40g mouse now.

Thanks.

You need to use Logi Options+ to get the full functionality.

Hey. Thanks for the reply. I'm not referring to Logi Options, I know about that. I'm referring to the apparent phenomenon of mice behaving strangely or performingly bad on Macs.

Online you see people saying you can counteract this using software that adapts the mouse to MacOS; I've seen something like Better Mouse and other things mentioned but i'm not familiar with then.

Can you or anyone else here please advise here me what such software helps with Mac mouse weirdness? I'm asking before I spend a fortune on one of these mice.

It takes longer for the MX Master 4 to sync with the settings in Options+ on MacOS26 as opposed to Windows 11. So when you bring it out of sleep it might take a bit of time, around 1-2 seconds, before the mouse syncs with the software and applies your custom settings. Afterward it works fine.

I'm referring to problems with mice (that aren't the Magic Mouse) on Macs generally, not just this mouse.

For me I’d seriously advise you to use an Apple trackpad as god intended! 😉 But on a more serious note, I asked duckduckAI your question and this was its answer:
Software like Better Mouse can help improve mouse performance on Macs by allowing you to customize settings such as sensitivity and acceleration, which may alleviate issues like erratic cursor movement. Additionally, some users have found that using "smooth scrolling" utilities can enhance the overall experience with their mice.

Thanks. Does anybody here use these with non-Magic Mouse mice? What do you recommend?

Then the only other foreseeable issue I can think of is the backwards scrolling, you just need to enable natural scroll in the Options Software so when you connect the mouse it would scroll like in Windows. And when you're using the trackpad it scrolls normally.

So far when compared to the Magic Mouse it performs much better and hurts my hand less.
