With how people ramble on about Apple's high quality and how it just works, this solution is pathetic. How can people justify this when they spend so much on a phone? I don't think Apple will ever give a bumper away free as it would admit a problem and too many people are willing to pay ($30 for a $5 item at most) for this 'solution'.

Where did the Apple fans that buy Apple products and demand nothing less than the highest quality go?

They are far and few between. Now it's just a giant Steve Jobs suck off fest.

Come back down to earth guys. This is a major flaw by design. And "get a bumper" or "hold the phone another way other than the normal way" just doesnt cut it.

But it's not broken. I was raised in a family where we couldn't afford water bills so I had to steal water from my neighbors garden hose to shower at night (I am much more financially stable at the age of 24 with 2 degrees in business *no college debt*. I own a business as well *don't want to give out too much info over the webz). Lol. But okay! I am spoiled and a brat kid :) "Everything revolves around the customer" is more like it. If I am the only one who hates having dropped signal from holding a phone a certain way because of manufacturing defect or poor design, than oh well....BUTTT I am not :)

I feel bad for you for being a person that assumes such idiotic things, getting bothered by online posts, and complaining about complainers. :) I love you though. :D

Sure kid, and I am a member of the fortune 500 club as well after growing up without any shoes. Nothing that you stated has anything to do with the fact your on a message board, whining and complaining about something that Apple needs to handle. Replacing your phone 100 times does nothing except screw over other people that would be ecstatic to have an iPhone. No one is denying you have a right to a fully functional phone (as do every other consumer) if paid for, but its very obvious you are just manipulating the situation so you can extort free accessories because you feel you are special. You are not the only one experiencing this problem (and it is obviously a problem) but I see it is very hard for you to conduct yourself in a reasonable manner. Once again, everything isn't about you. I'm sorry no one could instill simple values in you such as respect for your fellow man. If anyone on here could fix your phone, I'm sure there would be a thread about it. Get over yourself, maybe go outside for a little while?

im saying if he already has 2 replacements that are still broken then maybe he should check in the *********g store instead of getting on here and complaining. obviously if every phone is broen then whats the point of getting a new one every three hours? just wait for the next shipment and then take it back. i said nothing about it being ok i just think taking it back right now will do abolutely nothing.
 
What are you guys talking about? I never said anything about quality did I? If I did...oops. Lol. But yeah...I just like the phone...200-300 isn't a lot for a phone..is it?...I am better off financially than I thought...you guys just made my day :) I would have paid 800 for this phone easily. Lol. To me that isn't too much so 200 was nothing for me...All the millions of smartphone buyers must be all "idiots" according to you guys...most phones range from 100-200 or more? Or at least I thought so.

PS I don't really like Steve Jobs. Lol....don't kill me for it. I thought it was hilarious when the iPhone failed during the keynotes. The "Verizon" comment was priceless!! How he blew it off was hilarious too. I can try to find youtube link of it, but I think most have already seen it.

If you are ignorant enough to think you only paid $300 for the phone.... then i don't know what to tell you. It also gives me a laugh when people think they sold their 3G or 3GS for more than they are paying for the new model.

These are the same sort of people that think they are getting a great deal when they trade in their cars and the debt on it is transferred to their new purchase. LOL

But I am happy I helped make your day. You must be feeling very shrewd.

So to all you guys that are telling me to go outside, etc etc, fortune 500 (awesome by the way!!!), can take your own advice. I am doing what i want to do as a consumer.

Facts:
-I care about myself, not other consumers
-I don't care what company I screw over to get what I paid for
-Your words won't change my actions
-Keep the flames coming because this tickles me :)
-Oh...and yes...I am working right now getting paid for this :)
-I love my life :D
-I am mostly doing this to decrease a companies profits. :) I know the phones need replaced. But so far they have not made any intentions to do so.
-Yes there is a problem and I am being an ass about it
-I am ignorant and stubborn
-I find joy in online flaming :)
-I am a 24 year old child
-I am still breast fed

I will try to think of more.
 
Go complain and get some free bumpers. Haha. The less profits they make, the faster they will fix :) The more people that do this, the bigger the hit Apple will take. Apparently majority of the people at the stores agreed with me. :) I should have told them to sign up to this site. I wasn't really thinking about that. :( Super fail on me.

I would totally agree with you IF Jobs said something other than what he said. There was no implications of a recall or a fix. We were told to buy one of many available cases. If he says otherwise I will gladly stop returning and exchanging just to decrease their profits. They are a VERY large corporation. Even if we did this and they encountered a couple million dollar loss this month, they can recover quite easily. :) They have a pretty decent product line with a high number of sales on each compared to similar corporations. I am not asking them for my money back, so they get to recognize my money as earned revenue. The returns and fixes will be their loss/expenses/costs. They could cancel the entire iPhone line and still do fine as a business I'm sure...but would they want that? :)

Yeah. Jobs made a mistake. Probably his biggest when it comes to emailing customers....

But, I can say that I respect a man of his position emailing customers... but then again, wow did he ever miss the mark on this one.

I hope his PR department still lets him send emails out after this.

I have to admit, I was CONVINCED that the email was a fake because it was so bad.

$200 minimum per phone (that is not even profit, that is just revenue), labor, parts, loss of sales due to replacements, shipments, repackaging, .10 bumpers, negative feedback for products and negative publicity, people not purchasing Apple products for his response, etc etc all adds up :) I alone prevented 600 dollars in sales in less than a few hours. Trust me...it can hurt. Ask the Fortune 500 guy. Lol

Oh I agree that taking it back multiple times isn't helping. Its obviously a design/engineering flaw across the board (not a "bug"). I think he should just return it completely & get something else at AT&T that actually works.

In fact, I think everyone should return their phones & get something else. Apple needs to pay for such a stupid stupid mistake.

And Jobs? Well, he needs an attitude adjustment if you ask me. That email was 12 different kinds of stupid.

I called apple tech support this morning to mention the reception issue and they confirmed they know it's an issue and the engineers are working on it. They even sent me a free bumper

*cheers* Hell yeah!! :) Now for them to make an announcement instead of sell effed up phones continuously. If they sell them knowing they have a problem and make all these people wait for hours...that's their fault...at least in my opinion, but my opinion does not matter. The majority opinion matters. :)

peestandingup....Dude your name is the best. EVER. And I agree, but I do like the other functions on the phone, which is why i am not returning mine for a full refund :/ Not to mention...everyone won't return their phones. It would be hilarious if they did. Apple would be like "****....**** ****"

WOW an entire $600, you do relalize in that time it took you to "lose" them $600, they probably made $6 million, just saying, ya ain't doing much junior!

That's just one person, junior! Imagine if all the customers that helped generate $6 mil. did that! That is more than $6 mil. in costs and expenses for Apple, junior! Imagine if even half did that! That is a LOT of lost revenue, junior! :)

Imagination land rocks!! :) We should party there :D Imagination land though seems to be becoming a reality. :) Maybe not to the extent as I decribed...but hell...I didn't expect even one person to really do this. Knowing that more are doing so is pretty neat :) *dances* I will bring the imagination mixed drinks to imagination land for the imagination party :) We can imagine everyone is 21 right? :D

most people dont give two s***s about this though. so if apple loses 10 million.damn. they make that back in maybe 3 hours through selling everything else. just be patient

Assuming that Apple does not care about $10 million in losses is just....ROFL. Each department has their own Accounting department. One department does bad...that department cares :) Apple as an entire entity will care as well. Lmao. $10 million in losses due to a product that released yesterday?? LOL that is pretty big...Not to mention...the publicity is the big thing. Stock prices dropping etc. Trust me...it hurts a company. They will care. They will act on it or they will lose customers. A LOT of them. Probably not me though because I am too stupid to go away from this phone. :D
 
Ditto Duff. Record the call! I did on mine i will post it later to show how they try to get around questions. Apple Cust. service went down the drain. I am trying to get free bumpers for all my iPhone 4's on my family plan. They gave me one for mine, but that doesn't fix my problem with the other 3. And it isn't even really a true fix.

I talked to the manager or whatever his title is. Teto@apple.com is his email. He asked me to send him pics of the service dropping. Which I would also post the pics here but no point. We all know the problem. I can post the voice recording of the call if someone teaches me how to. It cuts off but still.
 
Apple sup is now on the line and stated he's had very few calls. But also said "I won't lie to you we have been having problems with the signal strength". I'm on hold again as he checks his resources.

In the meantime I suggest if you are having a problem you should call customer support at 1-800-694-3394.
