I think it has to do with the microsim. As far as I am aware it is the first phone in canada to use it.. They probably don't have the infrastructure for large sales (compared to the iPad)
This is just my guess though.

Personally I dont mind the delay, I can wait until July.. .I have no money to spend right now any ways ;)

We have iPads with microsims so the are readily available.

I'm sure it has more to do with manufacturing and being able to meet demand. It would piss off customer more to have product released but not available or available in decent amounts.

In the end it's a phone waiting 30 more days for it really shouldn't be that big a deal.

why is everyone blaming apple? blame the carriers. i think this has to do with the micro sim not being available yet everywhere...

Rogers, Bell, and Telus are all selling micro-SIM cards for the iPad already.

Maybe it's the homerism, but I don't think Canada and Australia belong in that list of countries.

Haha i must be the only one that doesnt care, my contract with Fido ends in july the 5th, so if it comes in july it will be perfect timing.

You can renew contacts like three months before the actual expiry date...;)

Well, Canada isn't much of a big deal to be honest...
I mean, if you really want it come to the U.S. and buy the iPhone 4, the iPhone isn't Canadian, it's an American designed/engineered phone for the American public...

Lucky for you, Canadians aren't as self-absorbed as you. BlackBerry is Made in Canada... for the rest of the world to share.

When it comes to Canada I assume that means for all carriers? Im interested in Bell and Telus for having them.

I called and spoke to a fido rep today who said people on 3 year contracts are eligible for hardware upgrades 14 months ahead of the end of their contract. So people who bought the 3G on launch day in 2008 are eligible in July if they sign another contract.

We'll have to wait and see what actually gets announced in the coming weeks

This is exactly what you should do!
Other Canadians should follow your example and stop whining.

Exactly, see, Canadians aren't exactly the smartest...
I really hope you are kidding. As I haven't finished reading the rest of this thread yet I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Only someone with unimaginable intellect would make a comment like that.

Man, there are so many things I would love to say in response to you, but there is no way I can say them without offending the decent Americans that YOU make look like arrogant fools.

Brother, you don't know how badly I would love to meet up with mr. iphone3gs16gb right now and have him participate in a little are you smarter than a Canadian 5th grader. I would love to see them kick his a$$

hi~Canada~the brother of America,Has been abandoned, check the first offering of country(june 24th),and check the GDP ranking(china is special~~)~~~that is the apple!!!~oh my canada~~~

so we all have to wait one more month, is it really that big of a deal? im in Canada too, yes it sucks but we dont need to cry about it, its not like they are making us wait half a year or longer like they did the 3g! now that would be something to cry about!

After having to wait another sixty days for the iPad in Canada than I wanted to, another two weeks longer than I would have liked to for the iPhone is unfortunate, but definitely bearable.

But hot damn do I ever want one.

My biggest problem is going to be to get Bell to give me a SIM card without me having to give up my Unlimited Data plan....

Oh how i hate Canadian Carriers!

Why would you have to give up your plan? Getting a new sim (micro-sim in iPhone 4's case) card doesn't do anything to your current plan.

Unfortunately it does. I currently have a CDMA phone and if a get a phone which uses Bell's HSPA, bell refuses to do the switch saying that the "Unlimited" plan is not compatible with the HSPA network. Hence I cannot keep the unlimited plan anymore.

They just want people to be forced into taking the $1GB for $35 plan instead of the unlimited for $30 that i currently have... :(

Bear in mind that June 24th is la fête de Saint-Jean le Baptiste in Québec, our national holiday. They wouldn't have been able to prep the stores here in Québec in order to launch the next day.

That's my guess why it has been postponed.

daamn; I'm sorry, my neighbors from up the street! (canada, from usa)

Know anyone in USA that can send it over?

i am with rogers and i dont have to give up my unlimited plan to get the iphone 4! only new customers wont be able to get the old unlimited data plan :D
