UPS Sucks

After 5 different changes to delivery date since 9/25, UPS was supposed to deliver today....and yes...you guessed it...have an "Exception" ...never made it out of Korea....(even though tracking had it in Louisville) and moved to a Monday delivery.

Spent an hour on the phone with Apple and got elevated to a supervisor who credited me a free leather case and will see if she can get it to me by Friday.

I intend to write a long letter documenting how UPS and it's totally botched handing of this reflects on the Apple brand.

Frustrated and angry at this incredibly poor customer service from UPS....will never do business with them again.

Do I hear a petition coming on? (..Probably not, but who's stopping you?)

Max did you end up getting your phone yet?

James

Phone was delayed until tomorrow after arriving in my state. I was supposed to have it today. Have had 0 updates since, starting to wonder if it will make it to my town from the city its in now, being its around 1 to 2 hours away. So, in short, no.

I'm not so sure UPS is the one at fault here...

I would be very surprised if your personal phone is really scanned by UPS until it arrives in Louisville, KY. I expect with the large numbers currently being shipped Foxconn is loading hundreds of phones into a power pack for shipment. Documentation is provided to UPS listing the contained phones which UPS scans. That power pack follows the same route for all North American phones and once in KY the import scan is performed as part of removing the phones from that shipping box. So, it's quite possible that the paperwork from Foxconn said it shipped but when UPS unloaded the box your phone wasn't inside.

I'm sure that is passed back to Foxconn which may explain why some folks have seen an arrival scan in Louisville, no import scan and then a departure scan back in China (meaning shipping the missing phone from the order).

So, until you see that import scan I expect there is a possibility your phone hasn't really arrived in the US.

Ordered me any my Mothers phone same day. Both shipped the 26th mine is still in China her's is in Jamaica,Queens:mad:! My delivery date changed from the 7th to the 2nd to the 3rd now back to the 7th:eek:.

This is the last time I order any iPhone from any retailer. I'll just wait till stock is readily available and just walk in and buy one in the future.

UPS or Foxconn

Regardless of whether it is UPS or Foxconn, this is a mess.

If there is a systemic problem then Apple needs to be aware of it and correct it.
The passing the buck that I have encountered is unacceptable.

Once my credit card was charged, it is a reasonable expectation to know when the phone will be shipped and arrive.

UPS: "We have a contractual agreement with some shippers, which limits the amount of packages that can be handed over to UPS on any given day, when this amount is exceeded, as in this case, the packages may experience delays. We need first to complete those packages that were given to us in previous days before we can export those that were recently shipped. My best advise is to keep on tracking the package on ups.com for further updates."

Hummmm, this doesn't look good! UPS originally had my delivery for 10/3 then earlier today it moved to 10/6 and now this.

Looks like my 64GB 6 SG & Gold are having Big Trouble in Little China :D

At this point, I'm almost enjoying the forum more than the actual delivery. This has been quite a ride

Looks like my phone is on it's way to my local ups facility/hub/whatever. I can't believe how obsessed I've been over this shipping. I'm in a cult and didn't even realize it. Lol.

I guess I am not seeing the problem here. This is the "Oct. 3 - Oct. 8 Delivery" thread. There is still almost a week before any of "our" phones are considered late. It is pretty remarkable that between FOXCONN, Apple, and UPS this many phones can get shipped out in such a short timeframe with so few actual issues. It doesn't matter if your phone sat in China for 4 days. Nobody in the supply chain has wronged you. No need to call UPS to yell at anyone. Your phone could sit in a UPS truck on the corner of your street for 4 more days and it would still not be late. Just relax and enjoy the logistics of it all.

And I have no doubt that I'll see you back next year! It so much better to suffer with others. :apple:

Your reasonable logic makes zero sense.

Everything you said is 100% correct but I'm still mad:D.

The Problem

With all due respect...

The problem lies in a carrier giving a delivery date that changes 5 or 6 times in as many days.

The issue is not the timeframe originally anticipated, but with a lack of confidence or any level of certainty that delivery will, in fact, take place within the supposed timeframe.

That is compounded by an apparent unreliability in the tracking system that cannot discern lots of phones within master containers presence or absence.

It reflects badly on the brand.

I finally got an update on where my phone shipped off to after Louisville. I had an arrival scan in Ontario, CA at 5:49 P.M. and departed at 8:36 P.M. My phone is now on its way across the ocean on flight #2964 arriving in Honolulu at 10:30 P.M. :D I hope after that it makes it's way next door before tomorrow morning. *fingers crossed

Our journey together is almost over guys! & I would like to see pictures as well.:apple:;)

Best of luck to you! Hope your phone comes on time! Looking forward to fancy pictures, ill be taking a picture of the box once it comes, just because the boxes always look so fancy.

Well today will be round 3 to see if they can get my phone out of the country. Let's see what happens and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for me and everybody else that had/has their shipment delayed
