I would have preferred a universal app instead of two separate ones. It's lame that I have to spend another 5 bucks on this app. 10 was a lot for the iPhone version. I'm just going to pass and just use the iPhone version on the iPad. I think this app is better suited for the iPhone/touch anyway.

Will subtasks and checklists carry over from the iPad version to the iPhone version using Toodledo syncing without the 'pro' subscription? Appigo's FAQ indicated there is extra metadata transferred using their sync method, but I don't expect my computer to always be on/awake. Not terribly keen on paying a subscription fee (Toodledo) until I find I will use it often enough.

No. I finally caved and upgraded today. Subtasks will morph into regular tasks during the sync process, otherwise (tested).

I also think the idea of the whole process being tethered to a desktop machine back home is ridiculous, which is why I was going with toodledo (and their app) in the first place.

I can kind of see why this is where toodledo.com set the cutoff of their free service, though.

Maybe it was 4.99, I was thinking it was on sale for 2.99, but I bet it was 4.99. Either way, it was worth it. Thanks for the link for the iCal sync, I was wondering about that.

You're welcome :)

You're right and I agree that ToDo was well worth $4.99 (on both devices).

The steps for the iCal sync may be a bit tedious, at first, but it works. After you set it up, future syncs should go a little easier. I added the "http" as a bookmark to streamline my iCal syncs. Both my iPad and iPhone synced to iCal without a hitch :D

I'm still trying to find the best suite of apps for me, and I'm trying ToDo for a few days.

I've been using OmniFocus but wanted an iPad app, so then tried Things. OF is a bit hardcore for me at times, and Things just doesn't 'click', so I'm hoping this is a winner.

I'm a little confused by the way everything that isn't scheduled with a due date shows up in 'Today'. Is that correct?

Go to the settings and click on Focus List and then turn off the undated tasks. The program assumes an undated task needs your attention so it is always due today. Turn off the undated tasks for the focus list and they will not show up. They will stll show up in the "All" list.

Hmm, it's already turned off.

On an unrelated note - does everyone use Toodledo for syncing or the Appigo solution? I notice the free Toodledo service doesn't support sub-tasks (projects).

The free toodledo account is working good for me, but for only 15 bucks a year I plan on upgrading for the sub tasks like you mentioned. The Appigo solution is something using your pc if I'm correct, I love that I can sync online with toodledo.

I took the leap for the $15/yr and did indeed end up using sub-tasks quite a bit.

If there's one complaint I have, it's that the toodledo.com website interface works a lot differently from the typical to-do apps that sync with their service, including their own iPhone and iPad apps. If you stop to put something in on the website from your desktop machine, sometimes you have to take a minute to think about the right way to do it on the website as opposed to the apps. It's just not as intuitive.

This is actually one of the things that puts me off. With both OmniFocus and Things, thanks to having an OSX app, I can right click an email using Services and create a task right there and then. The tast will include the email etc. I fear I may miss that, along with task quick-entry.
