Look at all those Chinese Scalpers ready to steal all the iPhones to bring back to China!! Totally not Fair !!!

Maybe Foxconn has problems delivering as many phones as they promised, so they buy them up in Australia and sell the to Apple again? :D

I too was able to preorder 8min early at 253am through att.com order went through rite away and had the confirmation a few seconds after the order went through but I ordered the iphone6 64 gig grey not the plus version. And have a delevery for tomorow. I never looked at the delivery time for the plus. I'm curious as to what the shipping time was though

As far as I know from calling AT&T they are back ordered for the plus version for everyone. And I was lucky to be in the first wave for the plus with dates of 10/02-10/13. I haven't seen one person on these forums who got a delivery date for the plus model from at&t for the 19th..

Some were lucky to get one via the Apple app.
I would have used my kids iPad if I knew that lol. But when I realized my orders were already processed. I didn't get my delivery dates until around 4am.

I think there are more scalpers in line than you might think. This doesn't mean that people aren't hyped for this launch or that the sales aren't going to break records. Pre-orders already broke records.

But, with pre-orders available to the rest of us, most people who wanted it launch day have likely opted for pre-orders and this means that a good chunk of people in line WILL be scalpers.

My suggestion: Start the day with 20 phones. Sell them to the first 20 scalpers, then be "sold out". An hour later, get 200 more phones out.

doesnt Samsung make components for Apple products?

Yes. That part of the company is actually quite good. That part of the company also doesn't create embarrassing or insulting adverts.

I agree re your original point, but what about if it's a gift?

There is an easy anti scalper solution that could be implemented today:

Make the purchaser 'nominate' a person it's going to and that gets recorded (along perhaps with names of any other people who may bring it in for repair), that way the scalper gets scalped.

I've often though the same should apply to hugely popular concert and sporting event tickets. Make the buyer name the people who the tickets are for.

If you then can't go, you can sell your your ticket back to the venue, who have a channel that people watch, that resells at face value again.

Scalpers (or touts as we call them in the UK), go out of business overnight.

One day some band will make sure that the venue is available for two or three days.. Announce one concert. Sell out to the scalpers in 5 minutes .Announce second concert. Sell out to the scalpers in 20 minutes. Announce third concert. Three times as many tickets sold. Of course the band will be a bit lonely on the first two dates.

iTunes Festival uses named tickets. Need to bring your passport.

9/19 lucky

I was lucky enough to get my order in after midnight but Apple servers were unable to connect to AT&T, but i received an email stating i would get another email with instructions to complete order later.
I received email and completed order 8:30am and have 9/19 delivery confirmation. It took 40 minutes going from iPad to iPhone Apple Store App.

I have my tracking info as of today.

This was the hardest pre-order I've seen yet!:apple:

Have you never been excited about something?

I'll grant you this: delaying gratification is a noble thing and is probably a good idea for personal mental health. But even so, to understand why delayed gratification is a good thing, you would necessarily understand why there are folks who are not interested in the delaying of said gratification.

That is a fair point and well expressed. It seems so much hassle and I suppose many people buy a model they do not want at start (different color or different storage, now even different size) because what they wanted is not available anymore. By just waiting a bit, you are sure to get the model you want and have first issues been already ironed.

Pre Order is on it's way :)

Although took a few attempts to order my iPhone 6. It did go through fairly early on the day compared to others.

I received my tracking confirmation from Apple last night but UPS only just loaded details today. Tracking started tonight and it's finally on it's way to me.

Hopefully the mrs can sign for it while I am at work. Good job I finish slightly early on a Friday, felt like I have had my arm chopped off after selling my iPhone 5 ten days ago :)

not sure if people would be lined up for so long ... even for a life saving vaccine... i wonder... for a new apple phone? you bet!

I was just there. There are about 7 trillion asians literally camping, some WITH TENTS inside the actual shopping centre. I have never seen such a big line for anything in my life.

Screw waiting 3 hours for a phone that i might not even get! I'm back in my nice warm bed. Guess I'm waiting till october:confused:

I don't get it. What has that to do with stealing? And unfair??? I think that comment is idiotic, let everyone buy the Iphones here: more taxes (sales tax and revenue for local shops) here, that support local economy!

So which queue is the guy from ifixit stood in? They seem to have been heading down under for the last few apple product launches so they have a tear down done and ready to publish by the time most the rest of the world have even woken up to launch day.

Here come the attack ads from Samsung poking fun at all the people lining up for iPhones... while nobody lines up for new Samsung products.

They are not queuing because they know how incredibly sad and pretentious it looks.

Woah, am I dizzy or what. :)

I didnt know Apple defied gravity as well.

Australia is on the other side of the planet.. it's like we're down under! lol hence upside down..

hahah truth is, I don't know why the thumbs are upside down.. when you click the image you see that the large file is just fine.
