Intuit CEO is on Apple Board?

I'm shocked to hear this. Does this guy not have a clue that the company he is Chairman & CEO of offers not even 2nd rate but probably 4th or 5th rate products to the company (Apple) of which he is a board member?

Would Tim Cook please tell this guy to wake up and give Apple users 1st rate products from Intuit!

Just wait... Apple will insist that 4.5" is the perfect size, then next year they'll make one that 5" and it'll be available in white or black. Meanwhile Samsung will make one that's way too big but it'll still sell well because it looks better on the shelves. Not to be outdone, Blackberry will eventually make a version that is the best of the bunch but nobody will care because they've already grown attached to a competitor that was first to market.

Are we still talking about "intimate objects" here?

Intimate objects, heh. Those spy photos of the double-headed vibrator? That was no iPhone part!

Sorry, had to go there.

More seriously, if this guy thinks secret cameras in glasses are going to be popular then he's deluded. Society will never accept such a gross violation of social norms. Cell phone cameras are fine because it's obvious when recording is taking place, but glasses that can surreptitiously record every single conversation? No 'effing way.

On an even more serious thought, if Apple released a Bluetooth vibrator that could sync with an iPhone for phone sex, they wouldn't be able to make them fast enough.

Technology has been in jewelry for some time now. Nothing new here. For example, ankle bracelets. They are water-proof, provide tracking data, and go everywhere you do. If you want, you could even jailbreak them.

The iWatch makes perfect sense. Many people have the same connection with their watch that they do with their smartphone. They're also quite willing to splash out a tidy sum for their watch. Linking it to the iPhone would also encourage more iPhone sales in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Yes...he should be worried. Intuit has totally missed Apple's major growth in the market. The support of the Mac platform is a joke. He hasn't come close to maximizing Intuit's place in the market. They have stopped innovating and it will cost them dearly in the future.

The fact that he's on Apple's board is laughable.

You guys are missing the point. Growth means nothing if it grows from squat, to squat.
Last I checked, Mac practically does not exist in accounting offices. Why would intuit spend time, money and energy on something that has little to no market demands? Look at the revenue make up of intuit. The only consumer offering that is substantial is turbo tax. And that is cross platform given that it is online. So actually, it is capturing the Mac growth just fine - it's just not distinguishing it.
Him being on board of directors for Apple makes sense. Why do you think there's been 4 iterations of iOS between the last 2 Mac Pro updates?

This could go either way but the mac could exist in accounting offices if the necessary software was available for it.

Windows 8. While this may not be true for everyone, I've never heard people so angry with Vista as I did with 8.

Typical American business attitude: our products don't sell well so why bother making them better? If Jobs had had that attitude, we would never have heard of the guy.

Have you used quickbooks at all? They have made changes. They're definitely not standing still...
But the first thing that Steve jobs did when he got back to apple? Killed all the products that matter less

Problem is there needs to be a coordinated effort. If quickbooks introduced Mac support, that'd be nice. But then they'd need profil for Mac, case ware for Mac, etc etc. one software doesn't change everything. Noone will jump until the other side fulfills all their needs and do it better.

Intuit on the apple board....
The sad part about so many of these guys on apples board is they were there because Job's idea was I'm sure to keep his friends close, but his enemies even closer. But now with him gone, those guy's are the ones steering the boat.
