Look how massive a 49mm watch is on a smaller wrist. Straight on would be much worse which is why they only showed those angles with large male wrists.

Thats what YOU see .... doesnt make a large watch ridiculous other than your opinion .... many wear Garmin adventure watches in every day life ..... like i say personal choice
I asked some more people around me, seems I’m not the only one with the opinion. Of course we’re not representing everyone, no one is.

Yes it’s personal choice, as is not wearing a watch that completely engulfs your wrist.

It's to compete with the Garmin Fenix crowd.
100% agree. It's a good start. For one the battery life needs some improvement. 60 hours on optimization is great for an AW but not someone who wears a Fenix every day. They can get 60 hours on one workout depending on the mode.

It'll be interesting to see the second and third generation Ultra's. Hopefully by then they've increased battery life to 4-5 days. The pipe dream is solar like the Instinct series. Until then i'm happy to use my Fenix 6s Pro for camping and other outdoor adventures and my Series 7 for almost daily wear.

I can guarantee you that there’s a good chance heart rate accuracy will be negatively impacted for small wrist people. The same thing happens with Fenix 7X models and even the standard Fenix. It’s just not going to sit still on a small wrist.

I wish they’d improved battery life of series 8 more, but I’m glad that my series 7 gets the low power mode.

As interesting as the Ultra is, I don’t think I can pull of the size, and I don’t want to give up all my current bands/straps.

I think it is interesting that so many claim to be interested in other people's wrists. I never notice anyone else's watch. I just don't care what other people are wearing and I don't notice it. I was in a meeting today with 45 other people and I could not tell you whether any one of them was wearing a watch - let alone which watch

Yikes I wear a size 1 in braided loop so super tiny wrist. I still want this beast But it might be wayyy too big for me. I do have a Garmin Fenix too — I don’t mind its size but I believe it is smaller than this bad boy!
