View attachment 2052382Look how massive a 49mm watch is on a smaller wrist. Straight on would be much worse which is why they only showed those angles with large male wrists.
Living in a metropolitan area, few people I see wear very large watches.
See, in OPs photo it looks enormous, but the photos here in comparison to the regular watch make it look not much bigger.Comparison shots of the Ultra on a female wrist (iJustine) and male wrist (guy from engadget)

In your opinion of course 😉
I think it is interesting that so many claim to be interested in other people's wrists. I never notice anyone else's watch. I just don't care what other people are wearing and I don't notice it. I was in a meeting today with 45 other people and I could not tell you whether any one of them was wearing a watch - let alone which watch
Not to mention that aesthetics and opinion vary between individuals, groups and locations/regions. Some people think purple hair, gauged ears and nose rings look cool, I don't happen to share that opinion. I don't care if somebody else does it or likes it, that's up to them, but it's not my thing. Goths dress differently than surfers, inner city urban youths dress differently than rural farm kids, and there are probably different fashion trends in New York and San Francisco. Some people like to blend in and follow current trends, others like to stand out and be different.Very true, but aesthetics and opinion change, and very quickly. Ripped jeans were considered unacceptable to wear even to the grocery store, and now they're worn nearly everywhere. So, yes, people always form opinions about a person based on appearances. But people also (1) take into account the situation (meeting someone wearing torn jeans at a coffee house won't set off the alarm bells the same way as meeting someone in torn jeans at a high-end restaurant), and (2) opinions can change with fashion trends. What made people cringe before (torn jeans worn anywhere) now doesn't even make them blink.
So, there is a possibility that a big watch on a small wrist, which now makes you cringe, will only make you shrug in a year or two. We'll see.
Could NOT agree more! I love big watches. I wish it were bigger! #BeastMode LolI loved big watches. I previously had Invicta diver watches and Movado digital bold. The only time it was a pain was with some dress shirts.
HUH? Why not? It's definitely not meant for everyday wear.
Well I'll definitely be wearing mine everyday. It's definitely not meant for everyday wear.

Its not a watch. Its a flavor flave clock. Why ? .... large watches are commonplace ...... personal choice really
You said it gets in the way, is awkward and uncomfortable….. implying you have worn one …. How do you know any of those things from a photo ?No we’re talking about the size based on that photo.
That's entirely subjective. I wear a Fenix 6 (51 mm), which is 2 mm bigger than the Ultra, as my everyday 24/7 watch. It doesn't get in my way, isn't awkward and isn't uncomfortable.Yes it does because it gets in the way and is awkward and uncomfortable.
Finally we, the big-wristed people have our day under the sun. Enough with the abuse we received from Apple in the way of kids watches. Our day has come and will only get better. Next year 53mm after Apple realizes that this is the way. Sleeping giants are awake now. We will rule the next decade with watches so big that it is not even funny. Join us now or else…Sir, with all due respect, in this case, it’s more than just “your opinion“. I can vouch for the original post, and with others who also have small wrists. This is something Apple should definitely consider, especially if they want more money from me.
Dude whether you like big watches or not, your watch doesn’t fit, it looks like it would slip off your wrist. There’s daylight between the strap and your wrist.Could NOT agree more! I love big watches. I wish it were bigger! #BeastMode Lol
Can we get someone to try this on that isn’t 6’1 95lbs?Looks massive on this guys wrist, lol.
Luckily I'm a big, strong guy. 👍🏻

Not trying to argue at all, because I want the Ultra to work for me … bigger screen, louder speakers so I don’t have to occasionally raise my arm to my ear during a AW phone call, usable when wearing gloves, a custom button … how does wearing a thick big watch not “get in your way”? I’m thinking the extra 3.7 mm thickness is biggest obstacle. Do you wear very close to your hand so that fitting under your sleeve shirt is not an issue? Over time you got a feel and awareness of the thickness of the watch such that you don’t bang into things with it? How big is your wrist, over 200 mm?That's entirely subjective. My wrist is around 185 mm. I wear my watch in a "normal" watch position (above the ulna knot in my wrist), I don't wear shirt sleeves (as in dress shirts) - it's probably been close to 10 years since I've put a long sleeve dress shirt on, but I could see where a big watch could be a problem for those who wear them often/daily. If I wear a jacket during cold weather, either the cuffs are large enough to fit over it or I pull the left cuff just above it.Not trying to argue at all, because I want the Ultra to work for me … bigger screen, louder speakers so I don’t have to occasionally raise my arm to my ear during a AW phone call, usable when wearing gloves, a custom button … how does wearing a thick big watch not “get in your way”? I have it on order and will try it out, but any feedback would be great.
