I have the HD season pass on iTunes. Not gonna watch it till the season is over though. That's what I did last season.

This is probably my most liked TV show ever!

I accidentally did that :D I didn't care for Lost to start with, gave up after the first episode. Then my girlfriend forced me to watch the last episode of the first series and damn, hooked :)
Backtracked through the whole first series.
Then did the same with Heroes and ended up watching the full thing in one sitting... Never again :D

Anyways. I'm on tenterhooks. If that wasn't obvious enough.

Can't wait for the show tonight!

Stupid Comcast doesn't have ABC HD in my area, unfortunately.

There are so many questions that need answering

1. How did john die?
2. Why do they have to go back - How do they get back there? Time Travel?
3. If they do go back are the people they left behind still alive?

I'm thinking he was taken out by one of Widmore's guys. He was visiting the Oceanic 6 at about the time he died so I think that might be it.

They have to go back because bad things have been happening on the island ever since they left. What they are? I don't know I'm thinking we'll find out soon. But the previews make it look like they're being attacked.

I think they are. I think the island moved in time and space so locating the island might be difficult. But it seems like Ben knows what is going on. My question is if they go back does Locke come back to life?

I know I've said this before, perhaps not here, but I think this time its for real: I've given up on Lost. They've done it before, making things complex to the point of silliness...but tonight was 2 hours of it...and it feels more like I'm watching Alias...where the writers have just decided to wander around in the mythos.

I was not entertained tonight and I guess I'll have to catch up on everything after the series ends...because I am not going to sit through 8-9 commercial breaks per hour to be not entertained.

Damn I thought they started off pretty well. The first episode was by far better than the second but it looks like they might be headed somewhere again...

Of course they always manage to sneak in an episode or two like that whenever I start to think I'm losing faith...

That was awesome!! Brought up some questions (as all season openers do) but it was still very enjoyable.

The time traveling was intense, I wonder if it's done or not. We could learn a lot about the island and it's history through these little trips.

So is Locke dead? Ben didn't make it sound like he was. Is it possible that Locke pulled a Nikki/Paulo?

I think the people we saw attacking the beach folk were Danielle's team and the reason they were acting so crazy was because they have the sickness.

What's up with Daniel working for the DI? That was a head scratcher.

So many things to talk about, ahhh!! :D

Ben was elusive about Locke being dead.
Locke could have done the spider thing.

By the way Daniel walked into the Orchid he was trying to hide his face from doctor Marvin.
Could have been a flash forward, flash back or flash present :)p)

It's a flash-forward/back....

He'll end up there in one of the time jumps that is in his future, but it is a time jump way back in the past...

I didn't know Desmond is a Timelord....:D

Is he going to be the 12th Doctor? Can we expect Tennant or Smith to show up on Lost this year? Is the TARDIS somewhere on the island? Wait, that would mean that the island would have to be in London or Cardiff...

So it took awhile for me, but I assume everyone noticed that Faraday's mom sold Desmond the engagement ring?

Very good, IMO.
The first 20 minutes of episode 1 was brilliant. I just wished they kept that pace up especially in the second episode where nothing much happened.

I liked the way the smuggler's plane was used as a time reference as Locke jumped around chronologically. He fell a rather long way when he was shot while climbing up, but didn't seem to be injured from the fall itself. I guess if he can survive an 8-story fall, a couple more stories is nothing, especially with comfy jungle vegetation to land on.

People on Lost (Faraday, Richard, Ben, etc.) are always saying "I don't have time to explain." We need Sawyer to grab more people more often by their collars and threaten them if they don't EXPLAIN IT ALL RIGHT NOW!

I've wondered if Jin was dead (I guessed that was unlikely), or if Sun was pretending to think he was dead (that's been my guess), or if Jin was alive but Sun didn't know it. In the pre-cap show (which was well done, by the way), the writers said that Sun "thinks that Jin is dead" so it's apparently the last of these choices.

Why does Virtual Claire not want Aaron taken back to the island? Her opinion seems to be out of sync with everyone else.

I had completely forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder, I knew she was someone important but couldn't figure it out. This series is becoming so long with all of these different details to remember.

Was it just me or did the smoke coming from the Smuggler's plain look a lot like the smoke monster?

The smoke stood out for me but it just looked like cheap effects than the actual monster.
I hope they explain that smoke monster though.

Maybe that was it, I'm too busy focussing on mysteries like, "where do we know that woman from?" and the few looks we got at the smoke, I know it stood out, and to me it clicked with Smoke monster, but of course I might be looking too hard for connections.

Although in the preview for next week it looks like at least some of the traps will be looked into.

I hate to admit it, but I need some help. I vaguely remember Desmond getting the ring and there being something peculiar about the whole situation. Could someone refresh my memory?

Agreed. Lost always has the worst visual effects.

I guess I had forgotten they were that bad. As I was watching the premiere I thought "Wow, they're really cutting back on their FX budget this year. I guess they got hit by the crummy economy too."

Let's see... haven't watched the episode in at least a year but I'm sure I remember it.

Desmond conscious appeared to have traveled back in time and he was with Penny. He decided he was going to marry her (and try to change the past) so he goes to the ring shop to buy a ring. Ms. Hawking is there she helps him when he says "I'll take it" she pauses tells him no you won't, you don't buy the ring you leave and you end up on the island. Desmond gives a big WTF. They take a walk have some chestnuts and some dude with red chucks bites it. Des says you knew he was gonna die Hawking said yes, there's nothing I could've done. He doesn't die today he will tomorrow (this of course was saying that Charlie was gonna die no matter what) because the universe has a way of correcting itself. I think this was the gist of it... Des doesn't propose gets whacked at the bar and he returns to his island self.

Also remember that Hawking was in the picture in that religious guy's office (when Des was a monk?). Not sure the connection there but we've seen her there too.

Wow. You have a fitting alias.
