I have watched every episode of LOST. I have cared about the characters. I have sit around reading mythology websites trying to figure out what the hell is going on. For the whole point of the finale to only have been about the characters moving on is a kick in the ass to many LOST fans, like me, who invested years trying to understand what was happening. For all of it to just have been thrown out, and to be told that, "Oh, well that wasn't important, it was just about the people", makes me furious. All of the mythology is what made me a LOST fan. I would never have watched the show as long as I did had I known it would end this way. Why was I led to care about Jack's son? Sayid's ex-girlfriend and her husband? This whole other reality? None of it was real, and I feel like my emotions have been toyed with.

I am so surprised at how silly people are being about this. Good lord, it was just a TV show! We all watched every episode. We all tried to figure it out. The ending was fantastic ans I loved every minute of it. If you spent all this time on fansites, etc, my suggestion to you is to go out into the real world, meet some real people and have a real life. Seems to me you spent way too much time living in a fantasy, much like the characters on Lost.

The Faraday part was what confused me. I didn’t understand what the mother was saying to Desmond when she said she told him not to do this (THIS being get them back to together, I guess?) and when she asked if her son was leaving.

No one asked about Anna Lucia, the police officer. I don’t recall seeing her in the church either. From what I understand Shannon and her got written off the show after getting DWI’s, so I think that’s why (even though they gave her a few minutes in the Hurley arranging for Sayid, Kate, and Desmond not going to jail, but then we don’t see Anna again for some reason….why even have her for that??).

Listen closer... Desmond specifically said Anna Lucia is not ready yet.

I think what's truly surprising, is how intolerant you are of other people's viewpoints... Why can't you let people criticize the artistic nature of the show, whether writers succeeded or failed, without demeaning our character saying we should "go out into the real world, meet some real people and have a real life." as if somehow being happy with the ending of Lost somehow makes you more apt to be doing these things. How sad. People can disagree without you accusing them of being shut-in losers, can't they?

Anyway, I think that anyone who watched the show with interest over the past 6 years, and honestly wanted to know the answers to these great questions posed by the writers will undoubtedly be somewhat upset by the cop-out conclusion of this TV series. Hundreds of HUGE questions went unanswered, and other big questions were answered with a casual "it doesn't really matter, anyone can have the job" type of attitude. I think the ending was a complete disservice to the mystery and science fiction aspects of the show.

Did anyone watch the Jimmy Kimmel live?

He had a couple of interesting theories.

The sideways timeline was a "living a lifetime" in the instant before death. Apparently there's a religious belief that this happens, as opposed to seeing the instant replay of your life (life flash before your eyes).

The other thing that struck me, was he pointed out in the sideways timeline when Rose turned and looked at Jack and told him to let go (after the turbulence passed in the plane). JK thought that this was the moment that Jack had died.

Matthew Fox was pretty emotional about the whole thing, as he appeared to be holding back his tears.

JK also let out that the DVD/Blu Ray set will have some set of answers not offered in the show.

The Michael/Walt thing was that Michael was dead on the island whispering to the living for all eternity (or so that was his theory). Walt wasn't brought back because he is apparently very tall now, and the audience wouldn't connect with him.

I have to laugh, nobody mentioned the relationship between Juliette and Jack having failed (she was destined for Sawyer?), Lockes insistence that Jack doesn't have a son, etc., were all these awakenings just the time that each of them died? Was the awakening done in the order of their deaths?

I did have the feeling that Jack being the protector wouldn't last long. I did think Hurley was in line for protecting the island. As much as we hated Ben all this time, I'm kind of glad he ultimately got to be Richards replacement, just falling short of his goal as protector. Pretty much his life story, always 2nd.

On the DVD set, I would hope that the major points would get elaborated, specifically, what was Dharma's role on the island. Did they stumble upon it and believe there's was a way to profit from it? All of their work to posses it just being corporate greed?

Time to let go now... It is what it is, and being upset about not getting the answers you were looking for isn't worth the time.

I guess what really made me mad was they totally disregarded any plot of the last 6 years. The finale totally stood on its own. You could have watched the last few mins of the recap, and nothing else for the last 6 years, and watched the ending, and nothing would have felt missing.

They lead us on a story line and then totally made it not matter in the end.:(

Folks- I would suggest that if you had such a difficult time with this, that you go out and learn to create your own stories. Do it.

You know that they're just making this stuff up right? Last night on Kimmel Terry O'Quinn (Locke) didn't even know he was the smoke monster all thru season 5. Matthew Fox (jack) said that the only thing they did know for sure was that the entire series would end on his eye closing. So yeah, they're hollywood money makers, telling story to all of us. I didn't mind the ending at all, i just wish it was still going. My tuesday nights are wide open now.

+1; I'm all ready over it with all these people jumping on the, "I don't get it...LOST sucks!!" bandwagon.

Here's a novel idea...if you want to see the serialized equivalent of a FAIL purchase HEROES on DVD or Blu-Ray!

That was one heck of a finale. I have mixed feelings about it because it did leave some unanswered questions. I am glad that I watched Kimmel's show, as his conversations with the cast clarified a couple of things.

It is sad to see the show end, I got used to Tuesday night being a good TV night. First Galactica, and now Lost.

Time to find something worth watching again.

I loved it too and cried a little. I thought it was really beautiful the way it ended.

Last night's show should have been the second to last show. The Finale should have been them putting all of the islands mysteries together as they congregated in the church. Disappointing ending for Lost, overall... The mysteries kept us coming back for more and without a resolution for those mysteries, I fell like I was left hanging.

It now feels like I watched 6 years of a murder mystery and I still don't know whodunit. Or I just watched a sports movie and never got the final score. Or a date movie that never tells us if they'll be another date.

Lost was a very entertaining show. Too bad they fell short at the finish.

Speaking of crying, did you guy's see how many tears the audience had at Kimmel's show?

I am sure it has to do with it being a group therapy viewing experience, but it was quite something.

Of course, I do recall that I shed a couple of tears, I just don't remember exactly when. :p

Immediately after it was over, I felt let down and was unsatisfied with the finale. But after some reflection, I think it was an appropriate ending for the show: I just didn't want it to be over yet. ;)

Everybody died in the plane crash.

Only those "lost" found themselves on the island.

Every flash forward-backward-sideways was a "dream".

Their minds, being freed from the physical were able to make leaps that the living can not.

Nobodies saying Lost sucks. I think everyone would agree that the ride was very enjoyable (otherwise they wouldn't have stayed on the ride). We just feel the finale didn't fit with the tone of the previous 6 seasons. Nothing wrong with being a little critical. Some people like stuff, others don't. Get over it!

Also....just to add. Suggesting that people who get absorbed into a show and enjoy the details, need to go out and experience a real life instead of living in a fantasy, is pretty ridiculous! No ones shouting "OMG THE ENDING WAS SO S**T MY LIFE IS RUINED WHERE'S THE NEAREST BRIDGE TO JUMP OFF?!?!". There's nothing wrong with feeling let down by the ending to a show. They couldn't please everyone. They knew that. We knew that.

Me too. last night, I was disappointed in so many unanswered questions. This morning, I watched the last 20 minutes. The more I think about it, the more I like the ending.

Nobodies saying Lost sucks.

I will go ahead and say Lost sucks. I watched the first two seasons. It started out as a cool sci-fi type thing and then turned into a soap opera. Lame.

Remember the polar bear and the black smoke? Yeah...

I think they made it pretty clear that this isn't what happened.

I wouldn't quite agree that it sucks, but I will certainly agree that the last season sucked.

I could give or take the finale. I liked the on Island stuff but being told that the whole flash-sideways that was only introduced this season and I was never much invested in, anyway, was purgatory was a let down.

Personally, I loved the first few seasons and the survivors/Others/Dharma dynamic but when they strayed from that I think they stretched themselves out too thin, and the past three episodes of the series (where very little about the show that got the viewers hooked all those years ago remains) is proof of that.

Ok, you think it sucked :p but I was more referring to the people who had watched it from start to finish.

Also....if you carried on watching it then you'd find an explanation (fairly rational too) for the polar bear, and a somewhat complete explanation for the smoke.

Are you kidding? :)
Yes. ;)

As ethical noted a couple of posts after mine, the polar bear's presence on the island was explained quite clearly several seasons ago, and we more or less understand what/who the smoke monster was. Despite this, I'm still seeing a lot of posts from what I guess you'd call casual viewers of the show, who think these are unsolved mysteries of LOST.

Believe me, there are a lot of questions I'd like to know the answers to (and Walt's role in all this is at the top of the list). But give me a break, we know where the polar bear(s) came from.

The actors don't write the show, they don't decide on the story line, the writers do, so I'm not surprised that the actors didn't know where the story was going. Having said that, I'm sure the writers made things up while trying to keep a cohesive storyline.
