MSNBC news story:
The ABC television network and sister publishing label Hyperion Books are taking the concept of product placement into a new direction -- by turning an imaginary product into a real one.

Producers of ABC's mega-hit castaway thriller "Lost" plan to introduce a new storyline centering on the discovery of a fictitious manuscript that will become the basis for a real-life novel that Hyperion will publish this spring.

The book will then be promoted as the work of an author, named Gary Troup, who supposedly delivered the manuscript to Hyperion days before perishing in the show's stage-setting event, a plane crash that maroons a group of survivors on a spooky island.

Warning to Americans not on the east coast:

If you don't want to know what happens on tonite's episode, don't read past this post for a few more hours.

The episode can (and probably will) be freely discussed here as soon as people on the east coast finish watching it.

Who thinks Sayid will really let Shannon's death go unavenged? Is he going to strike back at Ana Lucia when she's not expecting it?

Has Ana Lucia ever smiled, either on the island or in her L.A.P.D. flashbacks?

Her flashbacks included mention of locations near me, such as Westwood. Maybe she worked on the O.J. Simpson case.

Where will the Rose & Bernard story go from here.? They can't simply stay happy from now on. We need drama and/or mystery!

The counter hits zero next week? I didn't see that in the preview, looks like some much needed back story on Kate.
I have got no idea what Sayid has goin on upstairs. At the beginning he was about to kill Anna without a second thought. Now it seems that he has forgivin her in the course of like a few hours (got over her rather quickly).

What I want to know is what is the obivous chemistry between Anna and Jack and will this cause some jealosy issues with Kate. Even though I think she really loves Sawyer.
Also I can't wait to see what Mr. Eko's story is. Sounds like he has done more than his fair share fighting and killing in his life. Some rebel faction war in Africa or something?

Saw the preview for the next episode. What is up with the love triangle between Kate, Sawyer and Jack? Are the writers running out of ideas? I think Lost will officially jump the shark by the next episode.

Last thing we need is another Lost in Melrose Place. Yeech.

Whats this about the timer counting down? Did it show something in the preview.. this last episode was fairly tame I thought.. although it did tie up some loose ends sorta. :)

The phrase "jump the shark" is so PowerBook G5 next Tuesday.

Agreed - the single most annoying character on the program. Perhaps she'll try to steal some dynamite :D

You think so? I thought he was a minister or priest. During the 'rear half of the plane' recap episode, he was dressed like a businessman when the plane crashed, self-iposed a 40 day pennance on himslef after killing some of the others, and seemed to carress the bible they found in their shelter.

Regardless, he is one bad mutha...

Gaaahhhhhh I hate you Lost. Always leave me hanging at the end of the night... When will I ever be satisfied? When will ANY questions be answered?

I expected something more revealing in that missing section of tape. But I know who chopped it out in the first place!

The last scene was great, but I guessed what was going to happen just before it happened. Maybe that's because I've been known to use a computer myself now and then.

It looks like the other bunker is coming into play in the story.

Oh snap.

So you all remember the short shown on the UK's Channel 4 set to that Portishead song with all the Losties dancing? Well I found the original... and it's not set to the Portishead song. It's got dialogue, giving a bit of insight into the themes of the writers. Check it out.

Oh, and you have to watch through the floating buildings and soccer players to watch it.

I think he was a minister or priest of some sort. The Josiah story is in 2 chronicles and isn't part of the pericope. I think I might have heard it once in church as part of sermon to raise a building fund...

Then again I also read it in an illustrated bible stories for children as a child so he might just be a pediatrician.
